Bonding Eth interfaces - unexpeceted results
CentOS 6.2......... Why do the physical interfaces report (correctly) that they're negotiated at 1000Mb/s, but when I `cat /proc/net/bonding/bond0` I get 100Mbps for the member interfaces, and when I ` mii-tool bond0` I get 10Mbps for the bond? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ethtool em1 Settings for em1: Supported ports: [

gigE -> 100Mb problems
I've got a pair of identical CentOS 6.7 servers, with SuperMicro X8DTE-F motherboards, these have 2 each Intel 82574L ethernet ports. The eth0 ports are plugged in with 10' runs of brand new cat 5e cable to a Cisco Nexxus 9000 switch (provided by the data center). These servers keep coming up at 100baseT rather than gigE. I've swapped ports and cables with a different server,

network interface up but no data
Hi List, I am running a x86_64 Centos server, after a reboot the network has decided to not work.. this particular machine has 8 eth ports eth0-7. eth0 and eth3 were bonded (mode 1 ) after reboot the bond did not work. It came up OK but no data was passing through it. all other interfaces on the machine were working. I decided to remove the bond, so after removing the bond i was left with eth0

temporary file
Hello I did the following command: rsync -a --delete cpbackup /mnt/backup/ It works well, but the problem is that it seens the "temporary files" (ie: -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 83623936 Apr 19 2004 .name.tar.gz.yGk7m7* ) are being created on /mnt/backup/ Since it's a SAMBA mounted partition, it waste BW and is slower. Is there a way to specify where I want the temp files to be

My system: - domain0 - gentoo - xen-devel-3.0, kernel 2.6.12.5-r1 - domain1 - debian - kernel 2.6.12.5-r1 (2 interface: vif1.1 = eth0 (0.0.0.0), vif1.2 = eth1 (10.0.1.1 + gw 10.0.1.2)) Bridge: xen-br0 (config as 10.0.1.2) include (vif1.2, vif0.0) xen-br1 (config as 0.0.0.0) include (vif1.1, peth0) On server domain1 I use a pppoe server. PE850 Interrupt conflicts on CentOS 5 and onboard ethernet and pci-e serial
Hello, I have an interrupt conflict between a two port pci-e serial card and the onboard ethernet controllers in a PowerEdge 850. I'm running kernel 2.6.18-194.26.1.el5PAE with bios revision A04. In every instance, the two serial ports have been allocated the same interrupts as the two ethernet controllers. I have tried many kernel boot options, including acpi=off, pci=noirq, acpi=noirq.

tg3 ethernet card drops connection under heavy load
We have an HP DL360 server with dual on-board Tigon3 ethernet cards. We are using eth0, eth1 is unused at the moment. Sometimes when the network interface is under heavy load, for example moving large file transfers over rsync or NFS, the network interface stops working and we lose all connection to the server. The only solution at this point is to jump on the console and restart the network

Attempting to checksum a non-TCP/UDP packet errors rolling across screen
Hello, Just did a fresh install of xen-4.0 and using the 2.6.31.13 dom0 kernel. I have 6 linux debian guests running, and on my host console i am getting these errors rolling pretty constantly. "Attempting to checksum a non-TCP/UDP packet, dropping a protocol 1 packet" I tried doing the ethtool -K eth0 tx off and same thing on peth0, using bridged mode for network config. Any tips?

how to show only quota limit to users via SSH?
Hi, How, if possible, do I only show a user's quota limits when he logs into SSH? For example, I set a soft limit of 10GB on this user, but when he logs in he can see all the limits: -sh-3.2$ df -h Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on /dev/mapper/fluid01-root 38G 36G 530M 99% / /dev/mapper/fluid01-home 48G 15G 30G 34%

network collapse
Hi folks on debian stable I've a default samba file sharing config. Everything works perfectly (almost...) - samba version 3.6.6 >From linux and windows clients (wired and wifi too) when I (i.e. listen musics) often (one time every 4/5 minutes) networks suddenly collapse (for less one second) and immediately goes up. So I've an interrupt of broadcast (this happens also if I use rsync

Samba running slow
Hello everyone: Over the past few years I have been a happy samba user, running samba on Redhat / FC platforms. Recently I upgraded hardware, and Samba hasn't been performing well at all.. which makes me sad :-( The new hardware is Asus P5B board with a dual-core intel processor. This board has an onboard Realtek RTL8111/8168B gigabit ethernet controller, which was a hassle to setup.

xen 3.1/ RHEL5 vs. ethtool
I have the xensource 3.1.0 x86_64 tarball installed over a RHEL5 clone distribution. The "ethtool" utility only returns the following information: [root@fermigrid5 etc]# ethtool eth0 Settings for eth0: Link detected: yes [root@fermigrid5 etc]# Since I have no vanilla-installed rhel5 machines with which to compare, I am not sure if I am dealing with a bug in the ethtool (whose

QoS General Question
How much of an impact can/does local network traffic have on call quality? Would opening large files on local servers affect call quality? We are running QoS on the router but that will only prioritize traffic in/out of the network.
