PHP 7.x on CentOS 7 : which solution ?
Hi, As you all know, CentOS 7 is shipping PHP 5.4, which is OK in some situations. Unfortunately, some applications like OwnCloud require a more recent version of PHP. Up until recently, I've been using PHP 5.6 packages from the Webtatic repository. Despite the bad press this third party repo seems to have, it has been working perfectly for me for a few years. Here's the PHP 5.6 packages

Re: Fwd: [PATCH] v2v: virtio-win: include *.dll too
I think one - maybe final? - problem. How can I tell the difference between drivers for "client" versions of Windows (eg. Windows 7) and server versions of Windows (eg. Windows 2008 Server)? It seems in many or most cases the drivers are identical, eg: $ md5sum viostor/2k12/amd64/* viostor/w8/amd64/* bbe250c13bf891fd7292ccab9908a63a viostor/2k12/amd64/viostor.cat

retire first member server Administrator account complaint
I have been working towards retiring my first member server. (Sernet 4.2.14??) Moved all the user files, checked and double checked the ACL's and all seems good. My users redirect folders to my member servers with a GPO policy. I use roaming profiles (again via GPO) that have been confirmed as working properly against the newer member server (running Samba 4.5.3 from source.) Now, the

changed ip address of DC
Moved the hdd of my DC over to nicer P4 machine. It started as expected. (I have resolved the eth0 driver issue that happens with Debian/Ubuntu servers when you move a functional hdd to a different machine.) Then I decided to change the static ip address of the DC from 192.168.**.54 to 192.168.**.51. That went as expected, except it seems my W7 client cannot connect to my domain, now. It says

Samba4: Folder Redirection GPO not working with Windows 7
Hi I have folder redirection working fine in XP. I see that W7 has taken the same configuration as I made in XP. Here is a screenshot: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/45150875/gpo.png Unfortunately, on w7, whilst the roaming profile is correctly set, there is no folder redirection. Nothing appears in the \\hh1\USERS folder for the user who has logged in. Upon opening the GPO editor as Administrator

cannot update W7 or linux clients
First, I am sorry. I should know this by now. Last week had an issue with W7 client could not update. I made some adjustments to get W7 updated. Now I am having an issue with update resolution. (Run apt-get update and repositories cannot be find, etc.) So, this tells me that I have messed up my dns resolution. All clients (W7 & linux) point to my DC for DNS nameserver. All clients (W7

Restricting Services (POP or IMAP)
It would be great to have a HOWTO in the wiki, on how to restrict services by username in dovecot, so some users are allowed IMAP and others not allowed. As concerns restricting users by IP, I believe that is a bad idea. It's almost a useless idea, imnsho, because they can connect from another IP. It's easy to restrict services by IP using a firewall or by using inetd. -Wash

Drive Designation
I keep reading on this list where drive C: is referred to as "~/.wine/drive_c" but on my system (due to no special smarts on my part that would be "~/.wine/dosdevices/c:" instead. Why this difference? Are the ones who post basing their operation on an older way of doing things? The ability to use "c:" rather than "drive_c" seems nicer IMNSHO. FWIW,

Hi, I've updated my Debian lenny to Debian squeeze last week. So I have now: libvirt 0.8.3-5 qemu-kvm 0.12.5+dfsg-3 virt-manager 0.8.4-8 Today I try to start my Vista quest again. I am surprised because it won't starts. In "/var/log/libvirt/qemu/devel-vista.log" stands "Read failed". The Console stays as a black screen after a short SeaBIOS message. I tried
