how do i retain decimal values
Hello, I am trying to do a spearman correlation. My data has tied values. To overcome this issue, I am adding some random noise (values) to my original data. However when I add the random noise to the data, the final matrix does not show the new values. I guess the reason being that the noise I add is very small and the full value including the decimals gets truncated to show only the value

fixme:wininet:InternetGetConnectedState always returning LAN connection.
The line in the subject appears in several programs, and may be preventing some of them from working. Is there a work-around? My system is Debian Etch and Wine 0.9.31 with a previous ~/.wine I am connecting to the internet through a router/firewall to a broadband service. Ideas? Gluster and public/private LAN
I have an idea I'd like to run past everyone. Every gluster peer would have two NICs - one "public" and the other "private" with different IP subnets. The idea that I am proposing would be to have every gluster peer have all private peer addresses in /etc/hosts, but the public addresses would be in DNS. Clients would use DNS. The goal is to have all peer-to-peer

[Bridge] Bridging two private lans w/ PPP and brtcl
Hi all, I'm trying to do the following (ASCII art diagram viewable in fixed-width font at end of message): Take 2 private LANs, seperated by the internet, and bridge them by creating a bridge from 2 ethernet devices and a ppp interface tunneled over ssh between the two linux boxes concerned. The setup on each of the two networks is nearly identical, and is as follows: The network has

To receive faxes on a dedicated extention and to forward them to a dedicated e-mail
Hi list, has someone a clear complete and systematic overview over what libs, compiler versions, etc. are really necessary to enable fax receiving and forwarding via e-mail with asterisk and spandsp? As a "non-kernel-hacker" I'm running a bit confused and find it all a bit unclear and not too systematic?! %) It is remarkable how many and various errors can be produced by different

Req: Workers as singletons
Hi, it would be nice to be able to specify workers as singletons. By this I mean that every call to the new_worker method returns the same instance of said worker. This can be done transparently either by adding a new argument to new_worker (something like :singleton => true) or adding a new method, like I did in my installation of BackgrounDrb: def get_worker_by_class(klass)

libguestfs-tools with libvirt SASL authentication
Hello, I'm running into an issue using the 'virt-df' command when SASL is enabled in libvirt. I'm running version 1.26.5 of libguestfs on an Ubuntu 14.04 OS. I'm running 'virt-df' for all guests at one time, not specifying a domain or image to use. I was expecting a SASL authentication prompt but to no avail. Below is a sample run: root@all-in-one:~# virt-df -P 15

Dedicated ROR server and security
Hi all, I am trying to set up a dedicated Ruby on Rails server on Debian Sarge, with Apache 2 and mod_fcgid. There are 2-3 applications on this server, using virtual hosts. For now, everything works fine. However, I would like to secure this a little bit more. What I would like is to prevent one of the web apps to run a shell command to read one of the other app''s source file, or

rFactor Dedicated Server CPU usage
Hello, I recently upgraded to wine 1.3.25 on debian sid to run a dedicated server for rFactor game on a little Athlon 64 x2 4400+ linux box. The server works just fine but is a CPU hog ! Under "top" it uses about 26% CPU for "rFactor Dedicated.exe" and another 28% for "wineserver" binary without any player connected. I also insist on the fact that I previously ran

[PATCH] nv50: disable dedicated ubo upload method
The hardware allows multiple simultaneous renders with the same memory-backed constbufs but with each invocation having different values. However in order for that to work, the data has to be streamed in via the right constbuf slot. We weren't doing that for UBOs.
