motherboard for cents 6.3
Seems like overnight every motherboard that worked with linux has DROPPED off the face of the earth. Every motherboard I looked at is using the realtek 8111 chipset and a northbridge that is not supported. Example: GIGABYTE GA-970A-DS3, does not work with linux I tried disabling the onboard NIC and using a PCI-E intel card I always use and that would not work either. The north or south bridge

Firewall/Gateway Hardware Question
I've given up on getting the other machine to work so I'm looking at building a new one. The machine will be a firewall/gateway running NAT, Web Proxy with Dansguardian, DHCP, DNS, NTP and VPN (~6 clients). I read so much about VPN encryption and the processor needs, now I am unsure if this will work. I can get this for AMD FX-8120 Zambezi 3.1GHz Socket AM3+ 125W Eight-Core Desktop

USB-3.0 on C6.5 ??
Just wondering if there are any known issues with USB 3.0 storage devices in Centos 6.5?? I just got one of these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817332028 it does either esata or USB 3.0. My new motherboard (ASUS M5A99X EVO R2.0) supports both, so I've tried both (of course, can't have a feature without at least giving it a whirl! :)). esata seems to work fine, I

Kernel 2.6.32-358.14.1.el6 boot fail
Hello All: I installed 2.6.32-358.14.1.el6.centos.plus.x86_64 today and had some boot issues. After rebooting, the system locked immediately after the Asus motherboard logo. I thought at first that it was a hardware issue because it didn't appear that grub even loaded. I wasn't even able to get into the BIOS to change the boot order so it appeared that it was a hardware issue. I reset

Help with parsing a data file
Hi All, I need to parse data from a file, example shown below. The first two lines can be skipped, the third line contains the column names. The next 13 lines can be skipped. The next line "1991" is a year value, with the following 13 values data for that year. The file then repeats this format with (year, 13 lines of data for that year). I would ideally like to end up with an

AMD IOMMU disabled - No Perdev Intremap
Hi! From other people posting to this list, I know that there has been a bug related to the issue described in Xen Security Advisory 36 that disables iommu for some AMD users like me. However, even when passing "iommu=no-amd-iommu-perdev-intremap" it still disables i/o virtualisatoin. Related Xen dmesg output: (XEN) IVHD Error: Invalid IO-APIC 0 (XEN) AMD-Vi: Error initialization

plug in phones, speaker does not mute.
Hi all! Using C6 on an Asus M5A99X EVO R2.0 motherboard with AMD six core FX6300. That board uses Realtek ALC892 audio chipset. For the first time since I got that motherboard I tried plugging in headphones to the front panel speaker output. I was somewhat displeased to note that the speakers don't mute when that happens. I recall seeing info on that in Fedora, but not Centos, and

rowMean, specify subset of columns within Dataframe?
I would like to calculate the mean of tree leader increment growth over 5 years (I1 through I5) where each tree is a row and each row has 5 columns. So far I have achieved this using rowMeans when all columns are numeric type and used in the calculation: Data1 <- data.frame(cbind(I1 = 3, I2 = c(0,3:1, 2:5,NA), I3 =c(1:4,NA,5:2),I4=2,I5=3)) Data1 Data1$mean_5 <- rowMeans(Data1, na.rm =T)

Need some clarifications regarding VT-d requirements for PCI passthrough in Xen 4.1
Hello, I am looking into building a workstation using Xen to host several operating systems. Looking at the pci passthrough requirements of Xen4.1 on the VTdHowTo<http://wiki.xensource.com/xenwiki/VTdHowTo>page, I am a little puzzled with the fact that only Intel Core2Duo (with VT-x), Core2Quad, i7 and Core i5 (vPro Brand) CPU''s are supported while motherboards with the i55x0

vdev_disk_io_start() sending NULL pointer in ldi_ioctl()

[LLVMdev] [LLVM, llc] TypeLegalization, DAGCombining, vectors loading
Please ignore my concurrent post :-) Lets proceed in this branch. > do you understand what it means in the non-vector case? I'm beginning to understand it now. It means the type that should be in abstract VM memory. Isn't it? The main question about MemoryVT is: should it be original always (as it was defined in .ll) or not? About vectors with element size less than 8 bits. This
