how to install libvirt-python
Hi,
I have successfully installed libvirt-.0.10.0 from source
./configure
make
make install
How can I check that if libvirt-python is installed? Search the folders, it seems there is no such file
[root@tiger ~]# find /usr/ -name libvirt-python
[root@tiger ~]# find . -name libvirt-python
[root@tiger ~]#

Excuse me, but it seems that there is not way to uninstall the qemu which has been built from source.
There is no target for uninstall. Is it

Help with backups
I've got a Redhat 5 server running Samba, and two dualboot CentOS 5
workstations.
Until we get a better backup strategy, I'm backing up the workstations to the
server via mounting a shared samba drive to /mnt.
Trying tar cvf /mnt/samba_share/backup.tar /* eventually yields backing up
/mnt, which produces an unwanted loop, including /mnt/samba_share
I looked at tar with --exclude /mnt

xfs quota weirdness
Hi all,
I have a quota problem with xfs (xfsprogs 3.1.7+b1 on debian GNU/Linux 7
-- wheezy) and samba-4.1.19.
If I set a user quota to say 10GB, windows explorer reports a 20GB quota
of which none used.
If I change quota to x, windows explorer reports 2x space of which none
used.
So I assume samba is somehow getting (albeit incomplete and incorrect)
xfs quota info from operating system.

Oh right, RHEL 6 uses the older scheme with fewer packages. And it
appears that you are using a downstream fork of RHEL, given your
previous mail:

Rsync with OCFS (RAC)
Hello All
We currently use rsync for various jobs at our company. We are now
looking at using it to create an offsite synchronized copy of an Oracle
10g
RAC archive logs area. The source area is on Oracle OCFS file system.
The OCFS filesystem requires all reads/writes to be performed with the
O_DIRECT option, thus bypassing cache. Oracle provide an updated
coreutils package which includes the

samba on mipsel board
Hi,
I have cross compiled samba to a mipsel board. I could access the shares
from another linux machine using smbmount, and from a mac OSX machine.
But, I can not modify files from an XP machine. I could successfully
mount the shares, but if I open, say a text file from the XP in notepad
and try to modify it, it generates an error "not enough storage is

Have you installed libvirt-daemon-kvm? Does running
'virt-host-validate' point out any problems?

scp forces original access permissions when owner lacks write access
Hello,
I am not sure if this is a bug or a feature...
When I use scp to copy a file to a filesystem which forces or masks
permissions on new files (in my case a samba share) the resulting
permissions depend on whether the owner had write access in the original
permissions. If the owner did have write access then the copied file ends up
with the permissions specified by the filesystem. If the

SELinux and SETroubleshootd woes in CR
I'm setting up a dedicated database server, and since this will be a
central service to my various web servers I wanted it to be as secure as
possible...so I am leaving SELinux enabled. However I'm having trouble
getting Apache to use mod_auth_pam. I also now can't get setroubleshootd
working to send me notifications of the denials and provide tips to solve
the problem.

Weird errors for shares since 4.12.0
Hi all,
I am experiencing something similar to what Andreas described on march 9th.
Since upgrade to samba-4.12.0, users can sometimes have errors on
accessing shares. Errors can be different, most often
NT_STATUS_SHARING_VIOLATION, but also "Invalid handle".
Just restarting smbd fixes the issue, for a while.
The server serves six shares: one or a few may be locked, the other are
