Export your user/group data to CSV, its not that hard. https://www.manageengine.com/products/free-windows-active-directory-tools/free-active-directory-csv-generator-tool.html Some things work some

sysvol / netlogon / logoinscript
Dear all, I have build a Domain with to samba4 DC's. Everything works fine DNS Replication, User Replication, etc. Now I started to create a Logonscript. I doesn't reach to get the Logonscript automatcally loaded. The client doesn't load the DDP, doesn't load the GPO and doesn't load the logonscript individually in the user-setup by Remote Server Tools. When I start

deployment of software
I have Samba and about 40 WinXP Clientes running. Now I?m trying to find a way to deploy software (for example updates of E-Mail Client, Windows Patches) to my Clients. I was playing around with AutoIt and some "switch-user-tools" for windows, which really works but also is kind of complicated and time consuming. In my environment, every user got his own Logonscript on the Linuxserver

Samba-tool modify users info?
Hello, I'm wondering if there's a plan for including the possibility of modifying user attributes (must-change-at_next-login, profile-path, home-drive, home-directory, etc)? For the moment, it seems the only way to do this is when the user is created (samba-tool newuser) or by doing so via 'administrative tools' via a Windows machine. Thank You! -- Luc Lalonde, analyste

You should run : ldbsearch -H /var/lib/samba/private/sam.ldb -b "CN=msSFU-30-Mail-Aliases,CN=Schema,CN=Configuration,DC=MYDOMAIN,DC=com" -s base possSuperiors If the result is : # record 1 dn: CN=msSFU-30-Mail-Aliases,CN=Schema,CN=Configuration,DC=DEVINLECLECLERC,DC=com possSuperiors: container possSuperiors: domainDNS possSuperiors: nisMap Then it's OK, the script tried to add a

Ok it seems like you are in the exact same situation I was. So here are the files in a tgz. Once uncompressed, you'll have to change each occurance of "DC=MYDOMAIN,DC=com" according to your configuration. you can do this with something like : perl -pi -e 's/DC=MYDOMAIN,DC=com/DC=Carlos,DC=com/g' * Then you will have to run ldbadd and ldbmodify in the correct order to upgrade

msDS-isRODC is introduced in version 32 of the schema. This is the problem I faced. Hello Carlos, I had the same problem as you. To solve the problem, I just modified the files I needed from adprep in order to be able to run ldbadd and ldbmodify. Can you run something like this to check your schema version ? ldbsearch -H /var/lib/samba/private/sam.ldb -b "CN=Schema,CN=Configuration,DC=YOURDOMAIN,DC=com" -s base objectVersion

NIS Domain Does Not Appear
Hi Howland, That is precisely what I cannot do. I do this by windows using Rsat, and when I select the NIS domain to be able to assign the gid or uid it does not appear, so I can't use samba just as a file server. Do you know if there is a way to reset or show NIS Domain? Is there any way to assign uidNumber & gidNumber attributes via console? Best regards, Gabriel Franca -----

issue and solution : samba 4.9.4 and win10 1809 : windows could not connect to user profile service aka the home drive letter semi-colon is missing

On a Win10 client , i had the message "windows could not connect to user profile service". The only clue i had was in the event viewer, errors concerning svchost.exe_ProfSvc. After digging

Reg License
I don't speak on behalf of any developers, but most times it is very difficult to change the license of an open source project, as the consent of all contributors would be needed which is nearly impossible. There are ways, but I don't think it is very likely. Further information about linking gpl is widely available on the net. Afaik it is always allowed to link to any library as long as
