Sysvol replication problem
Hello fellow Samba users, I have a question that is related to sysvol replication. I have for now two Samba DC's that are functioning as DNS and Active Directory roles in my network. As samba for now does not support sysvol replication, I am replicating sysvol shares via rsync with -XAavz attributes as suggested in samba wiki. The issue is that getfacl on these two servers return

Sysvol replication
Hi all, Has anyone actually got sysvol replication working between 2 (or more) Samba4 DCs? I've tried gluster, inosync, csync and rsync and keep getting stuck on issues with the extended attributes. Is there a roadmap or any clues of a date when MSFRS or DFS replication will be part of Samb4? thanks again, Jim

Replication Failure Issue
G'day All, Will replay to all messages so far in this one to keep it all together. Replication Failure Issue
Thanks Carlos, The thing is, that I did not upgrade the version of Samba - that is the next step, so the ports used would not have changed. I only updated the OS. > On 21/03/2018, at 10:04 PM, Carlos Alberto Panozzo Cunha <carlos.hollow at gmail.com> wrote: > > Hi, > I have same problem after update for samba. > I allow new ports in firewall. > >

User names not replicating to secondary DC
I have 2 Ububtu DCs. One acting as a secondary/failover. At one point the users were replicated from primary to secondary. But now they are not replicating. The output from samba-tool drs showrepl is attached. What else may I provide to aid diagnostics? I know Samba does not replicate sysvol 'yet', so rsync is needed, but that does not seem to contain the users. Thank you,

samba 4.7.0 replication errors
Hallo, we have 5 ADDCs. All of them did run with sernet-samba 4.6.7. I updated 4 of them to sernet-samba 4.7.0, one after the other, checked replication, everything seemed to be ok. One day later a colleague wanted to delete a lot of users with a powershell-script and since then the replication doesnt work anymore. (Im sure the script is not the problem, but it seemes like it triggered something)

Restoring SYSVOL Replication After S4
I realize this is not a Samba specified quesiton... but I thought someone here might have some experience with this. After migrating from an purely S4 AD domain to a purely Windows 2008R2 AD domain one is left with no functioning SYSVOL replication (FRS or DFS). This makes sense as S4 is not aware of SYSVOL replication. So the question is how to bootstrap SYSVOL replication on a set of

Sysvol replication and group policies
As I read in the article listet at the and of this email there is no sysvol replication while joining a domain as a dc. This means to me (if im right) that there are no group policies available on the samba dc. Is this right? On the other hand if I create a new domain n a samba dc and if I set up asamba as a new dc ... group policies are available. Is this correct?

replicating sysvol with windows DCs
I have samba4 set up as an AD DC, and it's working well. It is one of 3 Domain controllers in a domain, the other two being Windows 2008r2. I followed https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Join_a_domain_as_a_DC One thing I that could be improved on the wiki is information about SysVol replication when there are Windows DCs as peers to samba. I've seen

SYSVOL Replication in a Windows-driven AD environment
Hi everyone, So, I am working with an AD environment where there is one 2008R2 DC (which holds the PDC emulator FSMO role) and one Samba DC running on Ubuntu 14.04 (Samba Version 4.1.6-Ubuntu). I have been trying to set up the rsync workaround for SYSVOL replication, but I've been unable to get it working properly due to the inability to compile rsync with xattr support under Windows. My

Proper sysvol replication solution...
I see the Samba guide suggests using rsync to keep sysvols in sync, but this poses a problem with ID's and it is only one-way. I have been hesitant to suggest anything because of the flak I have been getting, but I do believe I have a much better solution that transfers files via SSH, is bi-directional (no more only editing group policy on one server), and does NOT set UID/GID

Doubt about sysvol replication on Samba 4
Hi, I have a Samba 4.5.16-Debian installed on Debian 9.9 as a DC. Atualy I have 2 Windows 2008 Server (not R1) of 32 bits. I intend replace my Windows DC by Samba 4. My doubts are: Do I need setup SysVol replication via DFS-R for Windows 2008? In positive case, is necessary Robocopy based SysVol replication workaround (Samba DCs -> Windows DCs) ? I'm afraid of Transfer and SeizE FSMO

Support of NTFRS, SYSVOL replication and DFS-R
When does File Replication using NTFRS or DFS-R will be availabe? Does anybody already work on this item? Here would be some first documentation for this team in case it hasn't started yet: - NTFRS: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc759297(v=ws.10).aspx - SYSVOL replication: http://technet.microsoft.com/de-de/library/dd640019(v=ws.10).aspx - NTFRS migration to DFS-R:

Samba4 AD/DC Replication
Hi folks! I'm having some trouble replicating a domain. I followed the steps in this guide: https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Samba4/HOWTO/Join_a_domain_as_a_DC I followed the steps and everything worked fine for me. but... If I make changes on the PDC, these changes are replicated to the Secondary DC, but if I make changes to the Secondary, these are not seen in the PDC. Is there any way

SAMBA 4.10 SYSVOL Replication adn RODC
Hi All, 1) I read that the devs are working on supporting AD 2012 in 4.11, very cool. 2) I read SAMBA 4.11 can support 100,000 users and 120,000 computers, very cool. It appears that SAMBA is moving to be a viable file server, authentication and authorization server that can replace Microsoft Active Directory - Directory Services. Is this possible before 2030 for business with multiple sites

sysvol replication as non-root?
Hi! I wonder, is there a way to perform sysvol replication as a non-root user? When doing automatic replication, such as using rsync over ssh from cron, one have to put the root ssh key for the remote, which does not look nice. I would be much more comfortable if the whole thing was owned by a dedicated user (with ACLs stored in file attributes), but this way, sysvolcheck et al will sure complain
