4.1 to 4.2 Member Server Upgrade Precaution?
Hi all, We are currently using 4.1.15, 2 DC and 1 samba member server. When moving to 4.2, do we still need to compile the samba member server as follows? ./configure --with-ads --with-shared-modules=idmap_ad Thanks for answering. Kinglok, Fong

ps aux | grep smbd
I recently compiled samba-3.2.15 for a Raspberry Pi V2 and while it seems to be working fine, when I ps aux | grep smbd I'm shown two or three successively numbered smbd jobs. The smbd log isn't showing anything weird, what's up with this?

Schema version 87 and windows Hello
Hi Andrew, I'm very interested in using Windows Hello for Business in small business environments, with Samba as the AD DC. I'm sorry that I don't have great news. Increasing database size limit
Hi Volker, First I apologize for very late reply. I did tests in the meantime... Trust relationships are the option we keep in mind. As trusts are for now bidirectional-full-trust they give us possibility to increase domain size. If we have to split our domain we will split in one domain for users and another for computers (meaning users' MS Windows computers as they need to be included into

design question for small environment
Ah, ok. Maybe you can do something with the static id mappings on the server. Map a computer to user But besides that, uhm, good luck... Stick with the login popup, and save yourself a lot of troubles. Maybe this wil give you a good hint, https://sambaxp.org/fileadmin/user_upload/sambaXP2018-Slides/StefanMetzmacher_sambaxp2018_trusted_domain_support-rev0-compact.pdf Imo, a hard one to

Schema version 87 and windows Hello
Hi all, I would like to set up windows Hello (in the sense user and management are pressuring me) but for both option the schema would need to be at least 87 (windows 2016). I looked on the roadmap, bugzilla but couldn't find anything regarding this topic. Would you know when this version would be available and what is needed in order to achieve so? As a separate question, do you know good
