frequent core dumps (invalid lock_order?)
Hi, I'm hoping somebody can point me in the right direction. My samba version is samba-4.2.10-6.2.el7_2.x86_64. I have lots of daily core dumps (~20 on each machine daily) and I have no clear idea why. I'm including the stack trace below. It looks like the problem is related to "invalid lock_order". Any ideas? Thanks, Sergei #0 0x00007fc5a34945f7 in raise () from

Hi Rowland, Thanks for taking the time to look at this. I will post the log 10 output a bit later. Btw, what logs with log level 10 are you interested in? Here’s my samba config with sensitive info replaced with placeholders: [global] access based share enum = yes browseable = yes comment = <COMMENT> create mask = 0660 directory mask =

The share actually comes from an include file. I made it look like it’s part of the main config for simplicity. > It also doesn't help that everything > that is in [global] is also in the share. It’s

Lock order violation and file lost
I will probably file a bug about this, but perhaps someone here will have some ideas. We have a problem with files being deleted instead of being saved when making changes in Microsoft Excel. The log shows an error of: 'Lock order violation'. This is with Samba 4.1.6 and happens on both Linux (2.6.25-14.fc9.i686) and Solaris 10. No such problem when running Samba 3.6.22. We have a setup

Samba 4.0.7 doesn't work with Russian credentials
I am trying to use smbclient with a Russian login and it refuses the connection. This is with a smbclient compiled for our printers. If I use the linux version, downloaded from the samba site, it works correctly. I'm thinking it's how I have it configured, but I can't tell from the wireshark trace (included). Any help where I would look specifically in the code would be appreciated.

Are CP850.so and CP437 still needed for smbclient 4.0.7 and later
Are CP850.so and CP437 still needed for smbclient 4.0.7 and later? They don't seem to be built in that release !? From what I've gathered, they seem to be for ms-DOS support, and more needed on the server than the client. Please let me know, so we can remove the dependency to deliver the 2 files. - Mike ?

Compiling Samba 4.0.7 - make test results
Hallo, I'm new here. Doing compilation of Samba 4.0.7 on Debian Wheezy accordingly to Samba Wiki page. I have used configure parameters --enable-debug --enable-selftest and after make, I ran make test. Now I'm puzzled, because it apparently stops at step 96 (after 15 minutes, CPU still running at full speed), and I don't know how to interpret the results. I'm sending the output
