not enough charcters available in %J or confusing blanks?
Hi, I try to create PDF files with an modified script from Buchan Milne and have some problems with the Jobname var %J. Because it is better for the users to find an file with an similar name as the original document I'm looking for a way to read out %J, cut some unnessasary stuff and use the rest as new file name. The problem is: In %J in some circumstances is not the complete Jobname as

yum updated to 3.3, rpmdb corrupted
I'd guess this is probably something pretty specific to my test box, but when I yum updated to 3.3 my rpmdb got totally hosed. Unfortunately, I didn't save the error that occured at the time because a rpm --rebuilddb _appeared_ to fix the problem. Unfortunately I found out later that I was left with a db that only contained a subset of the actual install base. I'm now trying to

Replication failing with Win 2012 R2 (maybe)
Hello All, WIndows DC reports (not for the entire directory, just a portion. See outputs below). "The replication operation failed because of a schema mismatch between the servers involved.? I suspect the error is a red herring. Running several Samba DCs at multiple sites. Version 4.11.6-Debian from Louis?s repo (on Ubuntu 18) ?vdcw00? is the Windows 2012 R2 server ?cdcx15? is the Samba

SIP invite timeouts : how is someone sending invites from our server ??
I've been getting a lot of timeouts on non-critical invite transactions. I turned on sip debug. They were the result of SIP invites like this: Retransmitting #10 (NAT) to 185.107.94.10:13057: SIP/2.0 401 Unauthorized Via: SIP/2.0/UDP 215.45.145.211:5060;branch=z9hG4bK-524287-1---zg4cfkl50hpwpv4p;received=185.107.94.10;rport=13057 From:

long delays with file enumeration & listing in large data storage environment
After joining a Samba server to domain using either Winbind or using ADBridge (PBIS), enumeration time of listing files from windows file explorer for that share is roughly (9) seconds for a folder containing 30k files consisting of both large (upto 15GB in size) and small size files (as low as KB's). Intitially, without setting logging to "0" and disabling smb max server protocol in

Demote a dead PDC: residuals in "DNS" console
Hi mathias, thanks for the heads-up! However, my AD Sites and Services is clear, too. I followed the suggestion here https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Demote_a_Samba_AD_DC to use this http://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/scriptcenter/d31f091f-2642-4ede-9f97-0e1cc4d577f3#content script. Copy the contents of the "Visual Basic" box to a text file and rename it to

samba-3.0.9-1.3E.2
I wouldn't normally hurry you guys about a package release, (because you're doing an excellent job), but any eta on the above? samba-3.0.9-1.3E.1 is in the current repos and that install seriously fubar'd my ADS + winbind setup. samba-3.0.9-1.3E.2 (which requires krb5-libs-1.2.7-31) fixes the problem. NB, samba-3.0.7-1.3E.1 (the old version) was fine for me, its only this

Problem to demote Samba4 DC
Hello, I recently migrated our samba 3 domain to an AD domain using Samba 4 classic upgrade tool. DNS is provided by the internal dns server of Samba 4. I promoted a Windows 2k8 box as a new DC of this domain and I transfer all the 5 FSMO roles to this windows box. Now I would like to demote the Samba4 DC but when I tried I got this message : # samba-tool domain demote ERROR: Current DC is
