Two Issues - Postfix and Gamin
Greetings, I have done a bit of searching and I have found that the 4.5 version of Postfix is the following rpm: postfix-2.2.10-1.1.el4.i386.rpm. I had previously had the CentOSPlus version with mysql compiled in and just recently upgraded to 4.5 from 4.4, upon doing this.. the above RPM was installed, which is greater than the postfix with mysql from CentOSPlus, which is the following rpm:

samba 4.4.2 ads member not authenticating properly
Hello, I have a Centos 7 system running samba that is joined to an ADS. When I was running 4.4.0 everything worked just fine. When I installed 4.4.2 samba stopped authenticating passwords against the ads properly. I am using sssd and have verified that it is working correctly and able to validate passwords. I am not running winbind. Both 4.4.0 and 4.4.2 were compiled using exactly the same

Question About Samba PDC/NIS/2k
We are currently running Samba in a security=share mode, I would like to switch this to have samba be a PDC and use domain authentication. Anyone out there combined the following successfully? Linux Redhat 7.x NIS master and PDC, using NIS as authentication for PDC/Windows? I have seen several things on just having an samba PDC but I would like to keep using our NIS as it's used for many

Postfix + MySQL + IMAP + Squirrelmail + Virtual Domains + Web Management.
Greetings, I have long read and followed this list. I have also spent a considerable time with our good friend Google. I am a long time Sendmail user, about 15 yrs now. I have recently been looking into the newer services and the Postfix setup seems to be a very nice one. I am migrating a mail server from 3.x to 4.x and was intending on trying out Postfix on the 4.x server. I have found

systemd-sleep
I found that one of my users' workstation is, for some reason, running systemd-sleep. I cannot find, anywhere on the system. system-sleep.conf (or systemd-sleep.conf), nor do I find systemctl status system[d]-sleep. How can I turn this thing off, other than renaming /usr/lib/systemd/systemd-sleep? mark

CentOS 8 Coming When???
And the answer is same as the last X times this has been asked. When it's ready. However, they do have a page up so you can track said 'readiness'. It may lends some info. https://wiki.centos.org/About/Building_8 On Fri, Jun 7, 2019 at 3:57 PM Eugene Poole <etpoole60 at comcast.net> wrote: > The subject says it all. > > -- > Eugene Poole > Woodstock, Georgia

USB-serial adapter for CentOS 7
I've several USB <-> RS-232 dongles around. As well as a few embedded devices. They all "Just Work (tm)" on Redhat, CentOS, Fedora, Debian, Raspian and Kali. Knock on wood - never had a problem using any of them. As the drivers are part of the kernel, I'd expect any distro using a recent kernel to do well.
