emails from rake not being sent as html
I have an email that is sent from either a rake task or from a user action. When it is sent from the user action it gets delivered as nicely formatted html. When sent from the rake task it is text, with all the html code visible. Is there a setting I am missing? --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups

1 extension entry for multiple purposes?
Hey gang, There must be any easy solution for this but my mind is frazzled on compiling 2.4 with RTC as module. Bleh. Currently extension 9000 is our VoicemailMain(@company) line. Some employee's are complaining that the old system was better because you didn't have to enter your mailbox number and that instead the old system took you right to it. I figured there was something similar

ANNOUNCE: act_as_soft_deletable - new rails plugin for soft deleting / disabling ActiveRecord models
Acts_as_soft_deletable is a rails plugin that provides the ability to soft delete or disable models. When models are destroyed, they will be archived so that they can later be restored easily. Its similar to acts_as_paranoid but uses a different approach that should make it a little more foolproof. See the README at the following url for a better description. github url:

I''ve used migrations with MySql in the past and haven''t run into any issues so forgive When I run rake migrate nothing is actually getting updated in my database. I created a migration using ./script/generate migration AddFooTable and updated the migration to look as follows: class

How does one do a SELECT MAX query in rails? I''ve searched and searched and tried lots of things with no luck. I want to implement "SELECT MAX(column_name) from table_name and have it return the maximum value from column_name. I just need to get that one value, not the whole object... Thanks for any ideas... Not updating the updated_at field
This is for Rails 3.1.1 I have a field called last_seen in a model. This field will be updated when the something about the record is seen in the real world (don''t worry about this part) So I go x.update_attribute(:last_seen, Time.now) and the following happens is UPDATE "blah" SET "last_seen" = ''2012-10-23 08:57:46.179288'', "updated_at"

Log question
development.log contains quite a few SELECTS on system tables like COLUMNS. Wouldn''t it be more efficient to cache this info? I''m also wondering about strings like "[4;35;1m". What''s their purpose and is it possible to get rid of them? They look like screen coordinates and makes no sense in a text file. Christer Processing ReportController#create (for

Oracle and Rails seems really slow.... In development
I''m just looking into how to connect to Oracle using Rails. I''ve got everything connecting and working as it should. I have a Users table in Oracle: create_table "users", :force => true do |t| t.column "username", :string t.column "created_on", :datetime t.column "email", :string t.column "note", :text

OCI adapter slowdown on dictionary access
Hi, after some experience with Rails on MySQL databases I gave it a try on one of our larger Oracle database. I was facing a problem when Rails tried to detect the columns for a model/table. The appropriate statement ran about 1 min which led to a timeout. Our Oracle guru told me to analyze the SYSTEM schema. After that hadn''t helped, he said the only remaining chance is to use a

How to handle dynamically columned tables in rails
I want to build an application that lets me (the end user accessing a web page) design a simple list with columns and add records. E.g., if the end user says I want a table that has a list of songs, he can create a list (title, date, artist, label) and then make another list of, e.g., books on his bookshelf with the necessary columns (title, author, pub_date, shelf). The end user

object(s) are masked from package - what does it mean?
Hi, Sometime when I attach a dataset, R gives me the following message/warning:"The following object(s) are masked from package:datasets: column_name". Does anyone know what it means? Since it seems that the dataset was attached and I could manipulate the data from the dataset without problems, I am wondering what was R trying to tell me. Thanks, Tom [[alternative HTML version

Version 1.5.1 STILL failing make check.
I tried setting CFLAGS="-g -O" in config.site and got the same errors from running ``make check''. Then I tried setting CC=cc in config.site, and the damned thing failed again (but differently). Now at least ``!is.nan(var(1))'' is TRUE, as it should be. The problem comes from lapack. At the end of .../test/Examples/base-Ex.Rout.fail we find: > loc <-

Active Record, Migration, and Translation
Hi, I think the columns and table in migration should be able to have an optional "display_name" set manually. Something like: create_table :people, {display_name => "Personne"} do |t| t.column :first_name :string, :display_name => "Prénom". end Let me explain my point of view: Rails is a framework made to write programs in English. You see it when you

scale subsets of grouped data in data frame
Hello, I'm trying to duplicate what's an easy process in RapidMiner. In RM, we can simply use two operators: subgroup iteration attribute value selection (Can use a regex for the attrribute name.) I can do this in R with a lot of code and manual steps. It would be really nice to find a more automated way. My data looks like this group group_height group_weight height
