In /varcache/samba/ I have several .tdb files. Like brlock.tdb, locking.tdb, ntdrivers.tdb, etc. Excusing my ignorance, what are these files, and what do they do? And why must they be copied when migrating from one samba server to a new one?

Hello Everybody, we got new networkprinters and set them up. They work fine, but driverupload doesn't seem to work. We deleted the drivers used by the printers we had before. My question is should I also delete the .tdb files associated with printing? I remember driverupload once worked well with the printers we had before. Any advice would be nice. Jan Kellerhoff

Hello Nick, I do not think it is possible to just copy files like this from one to the other samba. You can do the copy job with rsync or scp. I made a samba PDC and BDC with ldap master ldap slave.
