How to get the checkpoint size in remus code?
Hi, I''m doing my master research and I need to adapt remus code. Now... I wanna get the checkpoint size (memory + disk) on each period. Does someone know what function does this? I think some *fd *object''s function in remus code could just get the memory size. Does someone help me? Thanks _______________________________________________ Xen-devel mailing list

Remus blktap2 issue
Hello, I have been playing around with Remus on Xen 4.0.1, attempting to fail-over for an HVM domU. I''ve run into some problems that I think could be related to tapdisk2 and its interaction with how one sets up Remus disk replication in the domU config file. A few things I''ve noticed: -The tap:remus:backupHostIP:port|aio:imagePath notation does not work for me, although this

[RFC][PATCH] Kemari v1.0 released
Hi, I would like to announce the first release of Kemari, an open-source virtual machine synchronization mechanism for fault tolerance. It offers a feasible approach to fault tolerance that does not require the use of specific hardware or modification of applications/OS. Kemari aims to keep VMs transparently running in times of hardware failures. It transfers the state of the primary VM to the

Remus' Network Buffering
Hi, I am trying to understand and change the network buffering that is being used by Remus, the HA solution present in Xen. From what i understood from reading the code, Remus calls the postsuspend method of the BufferedNIC after it suspends the domain that sends TC_PLUG_CHECKPOINT message and start the buffering and then calls the commit method of BufferedNIC after it gets the acknowledgement

[PATCH 0/2] Fix hangup after creating checkpoint on Xen.
Hi, The following patch series fixes hangup after creating checkpoint on Xen. The Linux Xen guest can be saved the state to restore later, and also created snapshot like checkpoint via the hypervisor. But, when the snapshot is created for the PV guest, it will hangup. We added ''PMSG_CANCEL'' message and ''cancel'' handler in dev_pm_ops struct in the pm-linux

where is tools\xcutils\xc_save used?
I want to add some parameters when vm is migrated. As I can see , vmm will use xc_domain_save(tools\libxc\Xc_domain_save.c) function ,and the main function of xc_save.c is responsible for inputting parameters. so I just want to know which function will use this executable file. Hi Richard thanks for the info. I took the strace approach and ran into this looping over and over again. Is it failing to get time? timer_gettime(0x8, {it_interval={0, 0}, it_value={0, 0}}) = 0 timer_settime(0x8, 0, {it_interval={0, 0}, it_value={0, 250000}}, NULL) = 0 timer_gettime(0x8, {it_interval={0, 0}, it_value={0, 204443}}) = 0 select(16, [0 6 9 13 15], [], [], {1, 0}) = 2 (in [6 13],

How to enable remus support for jeremy's xen.git xen/stable-2.6.32.x
Hello guys, First of all I need remus support for a Debian 6 system (kernel 2.6.32-5 : Xen-4.1.1). Debian-customized kernels don''t actually support remus. There''s a patch here: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=608988 that suggests adding the support for upcomming releases of the kernel, yet only in the wishlist. I have downloaded jeremy''s xen.git
