R-devel on Solaris 8
I'm having difficulty building R-devel on Solaris 8 (current version),
while trying to update from my previous version of R-devel (2003-09-02).
When building I get this error:

Something wrong w/ R-devel?
Hello ...
On both RH7.2 and Solaris 8 I'm encountering this problem - in both cases
this is from a fresh rsync of R-devel into a brand new directory (to
prevent it from me needing to 'make distclean' or the like):
building package 'ts'
mkdir -p -- ../../../library/ts/R

teardown not cleaning the BD?
Hi,
I am a bit confused, I have a few functionnal tests were I add/delete
records on top of the ones provided in the fixture and it seems like the
records are surviving the teardown. Isnt teardown supposed to be ran
after each test? So if I have something like:
def teardown
Client.delete_all
Concept.delete_all
Variation.delete_all
ClientVariation.delete_all

[LLVMdev] how to pass message from LLVM IR to bachend code
Hi,
In the directory of lib/CodeGen/SelectionDAG, I cann't find
SelectionDAGISel.cpp. I only have DAGBuilder.cpp and SelectionDAG.cpp.
I don't know why. My edtion is 1.4. Is it because of the edtion
difference? Thanks!

Public kudos to Timo
I'm sitting here working away on various unrelated projects and watching
patch after patch after patch flow in from Timo to fix all sorts of
problems people are reporting. A coding madman on fire.
Thanks Timo, you rock. I appreciate the time you spend on this software,
I'm sure everyone else does as well. :)

static wins entries -- entries change after restart of corresponding Samba server
I am trying to use static wins entries, as stated in the Official Samba
Howto Collection.
One Samba server (VServer) is with wins service enabled. Another
(Server1) is not, but it has the wins server in its smb.conf.
When I set wins.dat at VServer:
"SERVER1#00" 0 192.168.6.231 192.168.1.231 66R
"SERVER1#03" 0 192.168.6.231 192.168.1.231 66R

Getting GELI Keys from Floppy
Hello,
i want to encrypt my HDD's with GELI (not the root-fs, though). I want
to do the encryption without password, just with a key. The key should
be stored in a floppy disk, and the read should be read automatically
on boot, from the floppy.
There is a problem here, because GELI initializes _before_ mounting
the disks from /etc/fstab (for obvious reasons, of course). So GELI is
not able

Hi everybody.
I'd like to ask if someone could tell me when the binaries for R 2.9 /
redhat entreprise 4 / X86_64 will be available ?
I don't need a precise date but some indication like 1 month, 6 month,
never ?
Thank you for any help.

R_HOME path getting munged in inst/doc/Makefile on Windows
Hello,
I have come across two separate packages that have a Makefile in inst/doc
which use the R_HOME variable.
In both cases, the path to R_HOME gets munged in such a way that commands
that include R_HOME fail on Windows:
For example, one Makefile, for the xmapcore package (
https://hedgehog.fhcrc.org/bioconductor/trunk/madman/Rpacks/xmapcore/username/password:
readonly) has this:

Netbios over more then one protocol
Hi,
i'm reading:
samba-3.0.20a/docs/htmldocs/Samba3-HOWTO/NetworkBrowsing.html#id2564441
... The election process is /fought out, so to speak/ over every NetBIOS
network interface. In the case of a Windows 9x/Me machine that has both
TCP/IP and IPX installed and has NetBIOS enabled over both protocols,
the election will be decided over both protocols. As often happens, if

How do you distribute ruby-augeas for ruby-entreprise?
We are using ruby-entreprise, instead of redhat''s default ruby.... I
was trying to deploy the needed gem using:
/opt/ruby-enterprise/bin/gem install --no-rdoc --no-ri
/tmp/ruby-augeas-0.3.0.gem
But found out this would require gcc to be installed!
How can I preb-build this gem to remove the need for gcc on the nodes?
is there an option of the gem command to generate a distributable

Re: cron job madness
Hey,

in a cron job. Only a mad man would do that!
Are the cAos and CentOS releases THAT BAD?

local patch repository.
So must one have your own local repository to avoid
being labeled as a madman?
In which one of the RedHad reference books can I find
this?
Just curious.
