"clicking" sound with alaw codec
I'm trying to interface Asterisk with an Alcatel PABX and trying to find a code that works well. It says it doesn't support ulaw, though it doesn't reject it. It supports G.729, and that works fine, but we'd prefer not to use compression. When I use alaw, the path from Asterisk to the Alcatel is completely clean, but the other way has a set of clicks that kind of sound like

atxfer fails to read data
Hi, We are having a problem that is preventing users from using *2 to manage an attended transfer. After dialling *2, asterisk places the call on hold, but you can only dial one digit before it times out, and the cli says:- [2011-06-29 18:33:55] WARNING[29877]: res_features.c:938 builtin_atxfer: Did not read data. There is already an issue in JIRA:

Adaptive jitterbuffer problem
Hello there, I have set a simple environment to test some functionalities of asterisk's new jitterbuffer. The environment is composed of a sip softphone registering in asterisk 1.4 and calling a pstn phone connected to asterisk through a fxs board. Using the fixed buffer implementation the call quality is improved when injecting a artificial jitter in my local network. However, when changing

Bogus shutdown
Nut shut down a machine last night when there was no power outage. When I came in this morning, the UPS was turned off, but it turned on cleanly and passed its self-test. The battery was at 62% when I first checked it, and it's up to 63% now, about 20 minutes later. The UPS is a Tripp-Lite AVR550U. I'm running nut version 2.0.3. I expect to be told to update to a newer version and to

Error compiling Asterisk 1.8.3 on Sun SPARC x64 w/Debian Squeeze
Hello all, Figured I'd repost this with an edited subject line, to attract attention of people with Debian On Sparc experience. cannot find -lasteriskssl
HI! I'm trying to compile asterisk 13.8.2+ on openSUSE Linux but it fails. It seems file ./main/libasteriskssl.so.1 is present when it fails. Building 13.7.2 works without any problem. It fails since 13.8.0. $ ./bootstrap.sh $ ./configure $ make menuselect.makeopts;menuselect/menuselect --enable chan_ooh323 $ make .. failure (see message below) Any hint is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Rebuild of kernel 2.6.9-67.0.20.EL failure
Hello list. I'm trying to rebuild the 2.6.9.67.0.20.EL kernel, but it fails even without modifications. How did I try it? Created a (non-root) build environment (not a mock ) Installed the kernel.scr.rpm and did a rpmbuild -ba --target=`uname -m` kernel-2.6.spec 2> prep-err.log | tee prep-out.log The build failed at the end: Processing files: kernel-xenU-devel-2.6.9-67.0.20.EL Checking
