_netr_ServerAuthenticate3: netlogon_creds_server_check failed. Rejecting auth request
I am getting errors in my samba logs like "_netr_ServerAuthenticate3: netlogon_creds_server_check failed. Rejecting auth request from client XXX machine account XXX$" (Host log:?http://pastebin.com/QXhbngN5). So far, machines do seem to join the domain (Machine account is created in LDAP, user can log in, etc), but I am concerned that when Windows 7 machines reach their 30 days they

Samba4 and idmap backend (ad/rid)
Hi, I eventually managed to install and join a Samba4 server as a member in an AD environment but I have a problem with the id command. wbinfo commands work but when I launch id command with a domain user I get "user unknown". Here is my smb.conf (Took from Samba Wiki) : idmap config *:backend = tdb idmap config *:range = 70001-80000 idmap config MYDOMAINNAME:backend = ad

Hi, I upgraded my PDC from 3.0.34 to 3.3.4. Hi, I have successfully installed the stable version of Samba4 with AD role on a Debian Weezy yesterday. I managed to join a Windows 7 workstation and a Windows 2008 Server to my domain but I can't install Exchange 2010 on that server, when I try to launch the "Setup /PrepareSchema" command to configure Active Directory the following message appears : "The Domain Controller

Cannot map to other client shares
I have had a very odd problem for a while now, and am hoping this will ring a bell for someone who can point me in the right direction. I had a previous Samba DC (v3.5.6) in my home network, running on a command-line Slackware box. For a variety of reasons I decided to switch to Debian Jessie, which included an upgrade to Samba 4.2.10. I did NOT properly migrate my samba files to the new

Upgrade from Vista to 7 + samba = error
Hello everyone, I'm using Ldap + Samba PDC 3.4.7 in a Debian Lenny machine (backported). I've been able add successfully 3 hosts with windows 7 on my domain. Now i upgraded a notebook from windows vista to windows 7. I could not log on the domain (the trust relationship was broken), So i tried to remove and re-add (after applying the registry patch file) the machine in the domain

Problems with samba 3.4.3 as PDC for Windows 7
Hi all, I am testing Windows 7 Ult with Samba 3.4.3 as a PDC for Windows 7. I am using a simple, smb.conf file, domain name is "mygroup" without the quotations. Windows XP clients can join correctly and login as normal. However, with Windows 7, I can get the client to joint the domain, but when I reboot, I get a machine trust error and the user can not log onto the Windows 7 client.

PDC: "The trust relationship ... failed" from the beginning
Hi, When I try a net logon from Windows 7 64-bit Business (don't have any other Windows machines), I get "The trust relationship between this workstation and the primary domain failed". The discussion I've found around the Web regarding this error message seems to be only in the context of the 30 day password expiry issue, where the solution is to simply rejoin the domain.

Windows 7 machine trust accounts expiring
I think I have narrowed this down even further. I have been working through getting rid of error messages in the logs, and I have updated Samba to 3.4.3. This might have fixed the issue, and I won't know for some time, but I can still see the following error appearing in the logs, which seems to line up with the core issue of machine trust accounts expiring.

Joining 4.2.2 Samba client to Samba3 PDC
Hi, Not sure of the etiquette of this, so apologies if this is frowned upon, but a couple of months ago, this[1] question was asked. I'm trying to join a Samba 4.2.2 server to a Samba 3.4.7 PDC (e.g. Think NT4, not AD), which is also our OpenLDAP principal server. I'm failing because, although my "net rpc join" command seems to succeed, and the host entry is added to the
