CPU usage by libvirtd
Hi,
I employed libvirt to monitor 50 domains in one node(host). my
monitor calls libvirtd for every stats such as cpu, memory, disk every
10 sec. All my requests are made in one thread.
And I found that the libvirtd may cost 30% or above cpu time. Is it
normal in my case?
I tried to reduce this cpu consumption and found some variable in
libvirtd.conf and got a little confused by variables

Voicemail() problems - Long pause after incoming message recording ended.
I'm having the following problem:
I call into my Asterisk box (RedHat Linux 9.0, 1 Digium X100P card)
to access voicemail. After dialing the appropriate extension I get
voicemail, am presented with the user's unavailable message, and can
leave a message normally.
The problem comes when I press "#" to end the recording, at which
point I am told "Your message has been

libvirtd + vir-manager + kerberos
Hi!
Having two hosts installed with libvirtd, kvm, qemu on (Ubuntu
10.10). Now I have one big problem and one less:
I have set up kerberos for both hosts. Created the principal
"libvirt/srv1.example.org at EXAMPLE.ORG" and
"libvirt/srv2.example.org at EXAMPLE.ORG", Exported the krb5.keytab,
Installed it and tested the servers:

Listing machines as non-root user
I have a problem with virsh. I'm using eucalyptus software on top of xen 4
(debian squeeze). The problem is that unix user "eucalyptus" cannot see vm
machines when it executes "virsh list". My libvirt version is 0.8.8-3 from
debian sid repository. The same
problem occurs with older versions.
What is more I have tried to change unix_sock_ro_perms to "2777". After

[LLVMdev] llvm_anyint_ty clarification
Hello everyone,
I am trying to implement the max PTX builtin function.
This is defined in the following way:
"max.type d, a, b;"
where .type can be:
.type = { .u16, .u32, .u64,
.s16, .s32, .s64 };
The presence of multiple types requires llvm.ptx.max
to be overloaded for i16, i32 and i64.
So I think that the right way to define the intrinsic would be

Designing libvirt client
Hi,
I have a VMM application using a homegrown client for communicating with
hypervisor.
I am planning to migrate to libvirt because of the blocking nature of the
calls.
After going over the architecture, I would like to have a few doubts
clarified
1) Should my application be necessarily multi-threaded in order to make use
of the non-blocking calls in libvirt. [Are overlapping methods mainly used

[PATCH v2] nv50: H.264/MPEG2 decoding support via VP2, available on NV84-NV96, NVA0
Adds H.264 and MPEG2 codec support via VP2, using firmware from the
blob. Acceleration is supported at the bitstream level for H.264 and
IDCT level for MPEG2.
Known issues:
- H.264 interlaced doesn't render properly
- H.264 shows very occasional artifacts on a small fraction of videos
- MPEG2 + VDPAU shows frequent but small artifacts, which aren't there
when using XvMC on the same

Authentication via SASL and LDAP?
Hello,
I've recently configured a new virtual machine host running Ubuntu 12.04 server with libvirt and KVM. I am configuring WebVirtMgr ( https://github.com/retspen/webvirtmgr/ ) for users to manage machines via a web interface. This requires access to the host using qemu+tcp, which I have configured as follows:
/etc/default/libvirt-bin:
start_libvirtd="yes"

Live migration of instance using KVM hypervisor fails
Hi,
I am trying to migrate a running instance, but it fails with the following error:
$ virsh migrate --live instance-00000008 qemu+tcp://10.2.3.150/system --verbose
error: operation failed: migration job: unexpectedly failed
I can see following in the instance specific qemu log directory (/var/log/libvirt/qemu/instance-00000008.log) on the destination host:
