Another separate thread for a slightly separate issue.
For some reason, hotplugging disks does not work for me.
I built my guest with ubuntu's vmbuilder. It's Precise, virtual.

Connecting a VM to an existing OVS bridge
Hi,
I have an existing OVS bridge, that I can see in ovs-vsctl and use
for other purposes.
I've edited the machine's XML as instructed in
http://docs.openvswitch.org/en/latest/howto/libvirt/
When I try to start the VM, i get
error: Cannot get interface MTU on 'ovsbr': No such device
Any ideas?
(Note: I can't see the ovs switch in brctl show or any other regular
kernel tool,

[GSoC 2017] Project proposal queries
Hi,
My name is Radhika Ghosal and I'd like to participate in this year's GSoC
in LLVM. I have been using LLVM for a research project for some time now,
and would love to contribute to it!
Below are the projects I'm interested in and a few questions; please
correct me if I am understanding something incorrectly:
- Code Compaction: [1]
Is it necessary to implement code compaction

How to get assembly opcode mnemonic(s) corresponding to a MachineInstr?
Hi,
I'd like to modify MachineBasicBlock contents within a
MachineFunctionPass on the basis of how many CPU cycles the assembly
instructions corresponding to the MBB take. I'm using the AVR backend
and the number of CPU cycles every AVR assembly operation takes is
openly available.
Is there any straightforward way of getting the opcode mnemonics
corresponding to a MachineInstr? I've

Does the bridge show up when you run "ovs-vsctl list-br"? Both OVS
bridges I have on my system are seen in that list. I created them both
with "ovs-vsctl add-br BLAH". How did you create your bridges?

cannot start domain with SR-IOV interface
Hi,
I've been using libvirt (versions 0.9.11.5, and recently upgraded to
0.10.2), and have been attaching an SR-IOV VF to my VM with the following
device configuration:
<hostdev mode='subsystem' type='pci' managed='yes'>
<source>
<address domain='0x0000' bus='0x07' slot='0x10' function='0x0'/>

[GSoC 2017] Project proposal queries
Thank you very much for your replies. I tinker frequently with
embedded systems and was hoping I could contribute to an `-Os` flag
for LLVM or alternately, improving code generation in the experimental
AVR backend if there is a willing mentor.
As for encoding analysis results in MachineInstr IR, it's a feature I
too sorely need in the project I'm working on. Would it be helpful to

Re: Create virtual machine failed using virDomainCreateXML
Dear Michal:
I'm sorry. The pasting XML I described earlier is wrong, and the real thing is:
<interface type='bridge'>
<mac address='52:54:00:0a:2b:2a'/>
<source bridge='lcs_br_1'/>
<virtualport type='openvswitch'/>
<bandwidth>
<inbound average='0' peak='0'/>

can''t get network access from windows hvm
Hello everyone,
I have been able to get windows xp to run under a virtual machine, but i
cannot get any network access.
My desktop is connected to a university network, and we are only given 1
ip address. so i understand i have to use routing instead of bridging,
right?
i have commented the two lines for bridge and enabled routing in
/etc/xen/xend-config.sxp
next i inserted a line:
