Audio delays during file playback and zap channel activity
Hi - I've noticed that I'm getting audio delays when asterisk is playing back a file from disk and new zap channels are being created or destroyed. Audio streams are generally fine (person to person calls do not experience this issue). Sometimes the drops are very short - barely noticeable. Sometimes they are up to 1 second, and whatever file is being played resumes at the

Xen pci passthru problems with kernel -164.6.1
Hi there, After updating a server from CentOS 5.3 to 5.4 my Xen pci-passthru setup has some troubles. The server has two NICs, one used by dom0 and the other assigned to a domU and one SCSI controler assigned to another domU. It has been working fine since CentOS 5.1, when I did the initial setup. After upgrading to 5.4, I get this error when starting the domU with one of the NICs assigned:

Poweredge 2850 with LSI Logic / Symbios Logic 53c1030 PCI-X Fusion-MPT Dual Ultra320 SCSI
Did anyone manage to have xen (3.0.1 stable) run on this config? (this is on FC4 if it matters). I''ve tried recompiling the xen0 kernel with the Fusion options from my current kernel added, but it keeps removing some of them (maybe some that didn''t exist yet in kernel 2.6.12), and it seems I end up without the correct driver. If someone has this running, I''d be

mkinitrd-4.2.1.3-1 unsuitable for 2.6.13+ kernels?
Hi all, I have a Opteron-machine with the MPT SCSI-controller (Symbios 53c1030). At least in i386-mode, mkinitrd does not seem to build a usable initrd for 2.6.13.x (.3 tested) with this kernel. With 2.6.12.6 it works fine. I have not tested this in x86_64 -mode yet. The symptom is that mptbase and mptscsih load, but mptscsih does not discover any controllers nor drives, and things like

kmem_malloc crash with 4.8
Hi. I've recently borrowed a SuperMicro 6013P-8 from a vendor for the purposes of testing it to see if FreeBSD and these machines will make a good replacements for our current flock of 11 Netra T1s running solaris. Things are going very well with the tests, with the glaring exception of the following crash: While doing some significant disk operations: du, deleting a different part of the

Can not mount CIFS-Share on bootup (SELinux Problem)
Hello everybody, i am trying to mount a CIFS-share while booting, providing a credential file for the share (/root/smbpassword) - without success (with SElinux turned on). The share will get mounted just fine when typing mount -a on the shell. And it also will get mounted automatically during boot when SELinux ist turned off. I have searched the documentation, but i have no clue which SElinux

Driver for Symbios 8100S PCI SCSI?
I'm trying to install CentOS 3 on an OmniBook 800. (Am I insane?) The bootdisk.img gets things started just fine, but the closest driver on the drvblock.img disk is for the Symbios 53C896, and the Omnibook has a 53C810. Manually choosing the Symbios driver seems to discover scd0, but it's not able to load CentOS from the CD. (I've tried both the boot.iso from the os/i386/images

Semi-OT: LSI raid card sorta....
I've got a box running C7, just updated (yesterday). It had an onboard RAID controller, and an HBA. I just installed a new, additional RAID card, all LSI. MegaCli64 only sees one controller. I can't seem to find the magic to see the others. I *know* the new card is a MegaRAID - the box it came in says so. The system sees it 1:00.0 RAID bus controller: LSI Logic / Symbios Logic SAS1078

I would try the newer storcli utility instead of megacli. Thanks, Scott Silverman | IT | Simplex | 312-360-2444 230 S. PATCH for Symbios/LSIlogic scsi and isolinux
Attached patch allows isolinux to boot from a CDROM attached to a NCR/Symbios/LSIlogic SCSI controller (bios version 4.19). It appears this bios can't read more than 1 sector at the time using the ah=42h int13 call. The isolinux boot was failing early on when 4 sector are read. (bios returned error 0 !) I'm not sure if the same 'getlinsec' routine is called upon later to load

Avago (LSI) SAS-3 controller, poor performance on CentOS 7
I have a handful of new systems where I've seen unexpectedly low disk performance on an Avago SAS controller, when using CentOS 7. It looked like a regression, so I installed CentOS 6 on one of them and reloaded CentOS 7 on the other. Immediately after install, a difference is apparent in the RAID rebuild speed. The CentOS 6 system is initializing its software RAID5 array at somewhere

Problems installing 5.1 on a Tyan Thunder HEsl with a SCSI controller
Hi, I'm trying to install 5.1 using the onboard LSI Symbios 53C1010, and I'm running into some trouble. When the computer first boots, the SCSI BIOS sees the three HDDs, but when I go to install, the installer hangs for a while at inserting the sym53c8xx driver and if I go over to the screen on F4 it shows that it is trying to scan the SCSI bus and is resetting all of the IDs. Once that

mptsas driver failing in Xen-3.4 unstable version
On Xen-3.4 (unstable version), I have created CentOS PV guest and dedicated 1068 SAS controller but I am not able to see the disk which is connected to 1068 SAS controller when I do fdisk -l (vtd support is enabled in Xen). Looks like the pci device(SAS controller) is getting dedicated successfully as I can see the device in the list of pci devices shown by lspci. 05:00.0 SCSI storage
