list to dataframe conversion-testing for identical
HI R help,
I was trying to get identical data frame from a list using two methods.
#Suppose my list is:
listdat1<-list(rnorm(10,20),rep(LETTERS[1:2],5),rep(1:5,2))
#Creating dataframe using cbind
dat1<-data.frame(do.call("cbind",listdat1))
colnames(dat1)<-c("Var1","Var2","Var3")

Exclude missing values on only 1 variable
Hello,
I have many hundred variables in my longitudinal dataset and lots of
missings. In order to plot data I need to remove missings.
If I do
> data <- na.omit(data)
that will reduce my dataset to 2% of its original size ;)
So I only need to listwise delete missings on 3 variables (the ones I am
plotting).
data$variable1 <-na.omit(data$variable1)
does not work.
Thank you

Identifying and Removing NA Columns and factor Columns with more than x Levels
Hi,
How do you subset a dataframe so that you only have columns:
1. that contain one or more NAs?
2. that contain factors with greater than or equal to 32 levels?
How do you remove from a dataframe columns**
3. with one or more NA's?
4. that contain factors with greater than or equal to 32 levels?
** I know how to remove columns at a basic level but I am trying

matching observations and ranking
Hi,
It is not that clear.
If VAR1 is a match between columns AB001A, AB0002A, VAR2? between AB001A, AB362 and VAR3 between AB0002A and AB362:
Also, I assume row8 match would be taken as 1.

concatenate 2 data.frames
Dear all,
I would like to know how can I concatenate 2 data.frames into a single one. Both data frames have the same number of columns and the same class type in each correspondent column. So what I want is to have a new data.frame where I have first the values from one data.frame and then the values from a second data.frame would came after in this new data.frame.
Thanks in advance.

Sum according observation
Hi listers,
I have a simple doubt...
I need to manipulate the data base as:
var1 var2
7 0.1
7 0.1
8 0.12
10 0.15
12 0.18
20 0.31
I would like to aggregate the equal cases as var1 making the sum of var2...
I would get...
var1 var2
7 0.2
8 0.12
10 0.15
12 0.18
20 0.31
Thanks in advance,
Marcio

count each answer category in each column
Hey,
Is it possible that R can calculate each options under each column and
return a summary table?
Suppose I have a table like this:
Gender Age Rate
Female 0-10 Good
Male 0-10 Good
Female 11-20 Bad
Male 11-20 Bad
Male >20 N/A
I want to have a summary table including the information that how many
answers in each category, sth like this:

How to do it through 1 step?
A data set(dat),has 2 variables: x and a, and 100 rows.
I wanna add 2 variables, and call the new data set dat1:
var1:f = a/median(a)
var2:x_new = x*f
My solution:
dat1<-transform(dat,f = a/median(a),x_new = x*f)
But gets error reply which says that "f" is not exits since dat has no variables called "f".
So I have to do through 2 steps:

how to recode an ordered factor

figure out how to make it. I am using the Recode function provided by the

R-3.3.3/R-3.4.0 change in sys.call(sys.parent())
Some formula methods for S3 generic functions use the idiom
returnValue$call <- sys.call(sys.parent())
to show how to recreate the returned object or to use as a label on a
plot. It is often followed by
returnValue$call[[1]] <- quote(myName)
E.g., I see it in packages "latticeExtra" and "leaps", and I suspect it
used in "lattice" as well.
This idiom

It might be an easy question but if you have many variables to fit in the lm function, how do you take all without specifying var1+var2+...+var2100 in the terms parameter in response ~ terms?

cut2 error
To R users,
I am trying to use cut2 function from the 'Hmisc' library. However, when I
try and run the function on the following variable, I get an error message
(displayed below). I suspect it is because of the NA but I have no idea
how to address the error. Many thanks to any insights.
