MacOSX & ssh-agent -l
Folks, MacOSX 10.6.x (Snow Leopard) runs { ssh-agent -l }; that's not an s/ssh-add/ssh-agent/ typo. It appears to be an undocumented addition (the man-pages were not updated). I *suspect* that it just tells the agent to honour whatever pre-existing value of $SSH_AUTH_SOCK it inherits and to try to listen to that. I don't know for sure. Does anyone have details on what exactly it does,

errors on getaddrinfo(): nodename nor servname provided, or not known
Hello openssh developers, I had built openssh-4.7p1 on arm-apple-darwin9 platform, but I get this error when I load sshd using launchd: root# launchctl load /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.openssh.sshd.plist errors on getaddrinfo(): nodename nor servname provided, or not known When I execute sshd directly, I don't get any warnings or error messages, but the sshd is not listening on the intended

Refresh not working with launchd service provider?
Hi, Refresh doesn''t seem to be working with the launched service provider on OS X Lion (10.7.4). I''ve come up with a simple "service" script, plist file and puppet script to apply to demonstrate. The problem. Here''s the shell script which logs an initial starting message and then just loops logging a "Still running…" message.

RSync on Mac
I’m having a heck of a time setting up an RSync server on a mac OS X system. I have run it as a daemon (--daemon) with a configuration file and have created a plist file and put it in the launch directory. Still can’t get a connection. When I run ths ps –E on the system, I don’t see rsync running. Any links to good setup docs? Brad No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by

Problem when using bundle exec rake with Launchd
Dear all, I am developing a web harvesting server which requires regularly website parsing. Since I use Mac 10.8 as my development environment, I try to use Launchd to routinely wake up my parser. My parser was a bash script which has only two lines: 1. cd $HOME/ProjectFolder 2. bundle exec rake dailyTask:dataParse When directly execute the script under Terminal, there is no problem.

Anyone out there running Dragon Age:Origins on SNOW LEOPARD?
Im currently working at it, and got as far as being able to resume a saved game, but only for a few seconds before it crashes. You can see my full progress in the AppDB. Since, despite many helpful posts, there doesn't seem to be anyone actually running it on SLeo over there, I was just wondering if ANYONE has been successful in that task, or if I'm the only lonely wanderer in the dark...

Driver macosx-ups failing on Yosemite

The native driver was not sensing the UPS going on battery or any change in battery percentage. As you can imagine, if the native driver does not see a change, the macosx-ups driver will not, either.

1.2.6 compile failures
Hi, I'm trying to compile ocfs2 1.2.6 on a 2.6.21 kernel (with rsbac and pax patches), but I can't get this to work .. In 2.6.20 there was an change in the definition of the INIT_WORK macro (http://lkml.org/lkml/2006/12/5/269) this seems to cause my problems (see below) but even after removing the third parameter of the INIT_WORK calls the compile fails (see second compile failure). How do I fix this: master: Warning: fd limit (ulimit -n) is lower than required
Yes,tried a range from 100 to 1000, but the warning still happens, with varying outputs saying its either over or under. I'm looung for a way to set the limit when dovecot starts, or as part of the startup process actually. ----- From my iPhone. > On 16 May 2015, at 1:54 pm, Edgar Pettijohn III <edgar at pettijohn-web.com> wrote: > > >> On May 16, 2015, at 4:10 AM,

How do I increase the fd limit on OS X?
Hi All, I just upgraded to the new 1.1rc5 from 1.0 that I had been using and it advised me to increase the file descriptor limit. I'm not sure how to do this. There is a command built into tcsh that allows me to do this called limit, but sudo limit 4224 doesn't work, and usually dovecot is started from the rc.local file if I recall right, and I'm not sure how to set this up from

Mac Lion Server as slave
What is the best way to setup a Mac Lion Server as a slave? A Centos 6 server runs nut and controls the UPS. The yum epel install has a nut-client package that has the minimum required to get monitoring working (upsmon?)...I was wondering if there was some similar configuration for the Mac? Thanks, Greg -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:
