[PATCH 1/1] OCFS2: anti stale inode for nfs (V6.2)
#against V6, corrects some format problem pointed out by checkpatch.pl. For nfs exporting, ocfs2_get_dentry() returns the dentry for fh. ocfs2_get_dentry() may read from disk(when inode not in memory) without any cross cluster lock. this leads to load a stale inode. this patch fixes above problem. solution is that in case of inode is not in memory, we get the cluster lock(PR) of alloc inode

changes from v3: 1, move codes that checks inode allocation bit to subfunction ocfs2_test_inode_bit(). 2, release the suballoc lock just after we get it. we should release it asap and doing so doesn't affect functionility. 3, add inode alloc slot validation. FFS related panic in 4.8-STABLE
Every few days now I get a panic like the one shown in the attached backtrace. I've made sure my filesystem is clean with fsck and even turned off write caching on my IDE drive. Maybe someone here can figure out what is wrong. Let me know if you need more information. Panic in nfs/ffs after upgrade from 6.2 to 6.3-RELEASE
Hello, This file server was upgraded from 6.2-RELEASE-p$something to 6.3-RELEASE-p3 (current RELENG_6_3 sources via csup) on August, 11 and rebooted to the new kernel on August, 12. The school is closed due to holidays. The only load is mail delivery to Maildirs via NFS from another server (just 50 mailboxes or so, none of them very busy) and nightly backups. I went there on August, 13 to perform

swap_pager: indefinite wait buffer
My server just literally was brought to it's knees with this message spewing on the console: swap_pager: indefinite wait buffer: bufobj: 0, blkno: 1203133, size: 4096 (blkno and size were varying) Some searching says that this is or was a bug. Has this been fixed yet? If so, what should I upgrade to? I'm currently running 6.3 Michael Grant

[PATCH 1/1] OCFS2: fix for nfs getting stale inode.
Ocfs2 supports exporting. PROBLEM: There are 2 problems (1) Current version of ocfs2_get_dentry() may read from disk the inode WITHOUT any cross cluster lock. This may lead to load a stale inode. (2) for deleting an inode, ocfs2_remove_inode() doesn't sync/checkpoint to disk. This also may lead ocfs2_get_dentry() from other node read out stale inode. PROBLEM DETAIL: for problem (1), For

Re: FreeBSD PVHVM call for testing
Hi, After some more testing I thought it would be good to put this into production for my personal server. I''ve used pvhvm_v19 and built it without debugging options and installed it on a FreeBSD 9.1 system. I''ve run into some hiccups with 9.1 user land and a 10-CURRENT kernel, but that''s all solvable[0]. My VPS has some very limited memory (256M), but I''ve

[PATCH 1/1 v2] Add UFS1/2 support to Extlinux installer.
It's needed to enumerate both UFS1/2 since they have different magic numbers and super block offsets. Besides, UFS2 can be installed in the 0-64k range like BTRFS, whereas UFS1 can't. UFS2 has no cow feature unlike BTRFS. Signed-off-by: Raphael S.Carvalho <raphael.scarv at gmail.com> --- extlinux/main.c | 79 ++++++++++--- extlinux/ufs.h | 26 ++++

[PATCH v2] ocfs2: fix non-auto defrag path not working issue
This fixes three issues on move extents ioctl without auto defrag: a) In ocfs2_find_victim_alloc_group(), we have to convert bits to block first in case of global bitmap. b) In ocfs2_probe_alloc_group(), when finding enough bits in block group bitmap, we have to back off move_len to start pos as well, otherwise it may corrupt filesystem. c) In ocfs2_ioctl_move_extents(), set me_threshold both for
