kvm_open: kvm_nlist: No such file or directory
A few weeks ago I did a source upgrade from 6.2 to 7-STABLE. I didn't
"make delete-old" so a bunch of old libraries and such were left lying
around causing problems when I rebuilt all my ports. I'd read about some
recent improvements to DDB and SCHED_ULE in 7-STABLE, and it's a miserable
snowy weekend in Seattle right now, so I decided I'd take this opportunity

PCI device assignment to guests (userspace)
Userspace patches for the pci-passthrough functionality.
The major updates since the last post are:
- Loop to add passthrough devices in pc_init1
- Handle errors in read/write calls
- Allow invocation without irq number for in-kernel irqchip
Other than this, several small things were fixed according to review comments received last time.

X11 on Dell D830 with latest 7.1-PRERELEASE
Hi,
I've got a Dell Latitude D830 running 7.1-PRERELEASE/amd64 which I've
just csup'd to the -STABLE as of 5-Jan-2009, and after going thru' the
std build+install; XOrg now comes up with a blank screen, sometimes
interspersed with green dots. I did test out X prior to doing an
installworld, and that came up with no problems. However, after doing
an installworld, X is now broken.

loosing audio from one end after 5 min.
Hi all,
Just installed Asterisk 13 on CentOS 7 and have run into a problem.
The Scenario is this:
Asterisk is on the internet
the Phone, a D40, is behind NAT
So someone calls the number and Asterisk routes the call to the D40
Everything works fine and the call is established, but then after 5 min.
the caller stops getting audio from the D40 but there is still audio to
the D40.

pid-provider sees ld.so.1 only
I''m trying to do some userspace tracing on a server-process with the pid provider.
My problem is, that the only probes the pid-provider lists for the server-process (to which I attach dtrace with "-p nnnn") are coming from "ld.so.1".
There''s not a single one from my modules.
If I''m specifying "a.out" (or any of our shared-objects) as the

how to order POSIXt objects ?
I have a problem ordering by descending magnitude a POSIXt object. Can
someone help please and let me know how to work around this. My goal is to
be able to order my data by DATE and then by descending TIME.
I have tried to include as much info as possible below. The problem stems
from trying to read in times from a CSV file. I have converted the character
time values to a POSIXt object using the

Problems using unique function and !duplicated
Hi, I am trying to simultaneously remove duplicate variables from two or more
variables in a small R data.frame. I am trying to reproduce the SAS
statements from a Proc Sort with Nodupkey for those familiar with SAS.
Here's my example data :
test <- read.csv("test.csv", sep=",", as.is=TRUE)

Changing "..." inside a function: impossible? desirable?
This is was something like a request for your comments, thoughts
on the topic...
Many of you will know that the "..." (aka \dots) argument is
very useful for passing ``further graphical parameters'',
but can be a pain when itself is passed to too many plotting
functions inside your own function.
An artificial example being
myplot <- function(x,y, ...) {

bsnmpd always died on HDD detach
I am running bsnmpd with basic snmpd.config (only community and location
changed).
When there is a problem with HDD and disk disapeared from ATA channel
(eg.: disc physically removed) the bsnmpd always dumps core:
kernel: pid 1188 (bsnmpd), uid 0: exited on signal 11 (core dumped)
I see this for a long rime on all releases of 7.x and 8.x branches (i386
and amd64). I did not tested 9.x.

[LLVMdev] lld deadstrip atoms
Hi Nick,
Dead stripping optimization needs a way to setup the roots which are
live. The current code in Resolver does it by
1) setting all the global defined atoms to be the live set when building
shared libraries (_options.allGlobalsAreDeadStripRoots)
2) Or, uses a list of names that are dead strip roots (other types)
Question:-

How are the dead strip root names supposed to be

ORC JIT Weekly #8: Basic OrcV2 C Bindings, MachO and COFF improvements.
Hi All,
I've added a very basic set of C bindings for OrcV2 in 633ea07200e, with an
example in llvm/example/OrcV2Examples/BasicOrcV2CBindings. Development of
the C APIs is being tracked by http://llvm.org/PR31103 -- if you're
interested in C APIs for OrcV2 please get involved. I would especially
appreciate feedback and patches from C API users: I don't have a use case
for the C APIs

odd uptime error message
I checked the archives and /usr/src/UPDATING and didn't see anything
relating to this, and I might have easily missed it in the digest. I've
got two different boxes that are running a recent -stable, and recently
they both started spitting out the error message
uptime: /dev/:0: No such file or directory
before printing out the results. This may have actually started some time
ago, as
