Binc IMAP "IMAPdir" style layout
Hi, I'm in the process of migrating several years worth of mail to be accessible via an IMAP server. Some time ago, I evaluated both Binc IMAP and Dovecot and found Dovecot to be much faster on large folders, which is quite important to me. One thing I did not however manage to determine from the documentation on namespaces is whether or not it is possible to implement what Binc IMAP calls

I don't get --link-dest, at all
Hourly I have an rsync job backup /home to /home/backup. I have 24 directories (one for each hour): home.0 ... home.23 Here is the script I am running via cron: #! /usr/local/bin/bash dest=`date +%k | sed 's/ //g'` linkdir=`date -v-1H +%k | sed 's/ //g'` chflags -R noschg /home/backup rm -rf /home/backup/home.$dest rsync -ahHP --numeric-ids --delete --stats --link-dest=../

[PATCH] LAYOUT=imapdir is broken in v2.2
The next thing I noticed in my v1.2 -> 2.2 upgrade is that mail_location = maildir:[..]:LAYOUT=imapdir is broken, the symptom is dovecot returning this to the client when requesting any mailbox beyond INBOX: Character not allowed in mailbox name: ' Which is actually trying to say "Character not allowed in mailbox name: '\0'", but since the %c is not escaped it ends

LDAP Bind
hi all 2 Questions : - how not using the authentication bind feature of ldap server ? i rewrite checkpassword-ldap recently to use in bincimap server, and it take 3 lines to do this, so i don't understand how you don't use it. it is more powerful and more secure than retrieve pasword from the base and use crypto api to compare it. - is the dovecot server support the IMAPdir feature like

Conversion help
Hi there, I'm working on converting my server from using bincimap to dovecot. I seem to be having some trouble with folders, however. Binc was set up like this : depot = "IMAPdir", /* Use Maildir++ style type = "Maildir", /* only Maildir path = "Maildir", /* default

Missing IMAP folders
Hi, I'm fresh starting to use dovecot. Before this I used bincimap, mainly because it was very simple to config. I've tried to find the FAQ's and tried searching the archives, but little came up. My current config: server FreeBSD i386, postfix 2.4 dovecot 1.0.10 client: windows 2000 thunderbird 2.0.0.12 after some inital config this starts up, and I even have the

Namespaces
Hi all, I'm working to convert from a bincIMAP setup to a Dovecot setup. I've tried messing around with namespaces to make the conversion transparent, but I'm getting nowhere. Are namespaces necessary? Or can I proceed by recursively renaming the folders on the server? A transparent solution would be wonderful, but I can't get it to work for me.. Any help would be

Folders don't show up
Hello, I've upgraded to the new LTS version of Ubuntu. With that comes a new dovecot version. I think I've migrated my dovecot configuration correctly to the new version. Everything works, except that the mailboxes don't show up in the list of mailboxes in my mail clients. Trying to issue a LIST command, I see the following: CAPABILITY IMAP4rev1 LITERAL+ SASL-IR LOGIN-REFERRALS

OT: ?? Centos Still Broken, Red Hat won't fix ??
To the Linux Community at Large: I reported to this list back in January, 2010 that the standard x86_64 kernel, when built from the src.rpm and modified for AMD K8 / K10 Extensions would not build. I reported this here and to Red Hat via Bugzilla ID number 558367. RH AS / Centos 5.3 worked fine. That was Centos 5.4 / Red Hat Enterprise AS 5 Update 4. Today we tried to optimize Red Hat

How to wrap or split labels on plot
Dear R gurus, I want to wrap labels that are too long for a plot. I have looked at strsplit(), substr(), nchar(), and strwrap(). I think it's some combination but I'm having difficulty trying to figure out the right combo. I think I need to create some new matrix containing the labels already split, though I'm not sure if maybe there is a quick and dirty way to address this

What has happened to the CentOS logo?
Has the CentOS logo disappeared from CentOS-7? I thought the logo in CentOS-6 was very pleasant. Also I liked the way in which one increasing circle inside another showed how the boot was progressing. The dots going round and round in Microsoft fashion in CentOS-7 is a retrograde step, I think. One always has the fear it might continue forever. -- Timothy Murphy gayleard /at/ eircom.net School

How to suppress the printing of warnings (Windows)?
Dear all, I'm a newbie in R. I am running simulations using a fixed bandwidth in nonparametric regressions, sending all the output to a file myoutput.txt using sink("myoutput.txt"), & R is printing all warnings by the end of the simulation on the file. I know the source of the problem & can take care of it. However, finding a 50 MB file (where all the output is printed, e.g.

Read Back Caller ID Using Number Announcement in Digital Receptionist
I would like to setup an option in my digital receptionist that callers can select to hear a read back of their Caller ID. It would be something like, "the number you are calling from is...". I think I can reuse the festival script that is built in, but ideally this could be accomplished without using festival because Allison's voice is so much more pleasant. I'm just a few

Cisco 7960s
Cisco should really be ashamed of this product... While it is physically well constructed, and has excellent sound quality along with a very pleasant user interface, the device has SERIOUS stability issues, unless you run your network with an iron fist... Quite by accident, while configuring my Asterisk system to connect to a Cisco 7960 via SIP in a standard office PBX type arrangement, I
