Migrating domain using IMAPc
Hi list, I'm trying to do a domain migration using the imapc feature, but i'm having some problems and I really don't know what is happening. So if you guys could help me with a path to solve this, I will be glad. I'm using Dovecot 2.1.7 in a Debian Wheezy machine. The command I'm using is: dsync -Dv -o imapc_features=rfc822.size -o imapc_host=IP -o imapc_port=143 -o

dsync/imapc migration question
Doing an imapc migration with the pop3 migration plugin, using doveadm backup -R. I occasionally get the following output: dsync(user at domain.tld): Error: imapc(mail01.domain.tld:143): Server disconnected unexpectedly dsync(user at domain.tld): Error: imapc(mail01.domain.tld:143): Server disconnected unexpectedly dsync(user at domain.tld): Error: imapc(mail01.domain.tld:143): Server

doveadm/dsync/imapc and foldernames including a "%"
We're using doveadm/dsync/imapc to migrate accounts from Courier to Dovecot 2.2.20. On the source-server some user have folder names including a "%" in their name. Looks like doveadm isn't able to handle that folder names. I always stops with: dsync(testtest): Error: Failed to access mailbox INBOX.Test%TEST: Mailbox does not exist, or must be subscribed to. IMAPC feature description
Hi, I couldn't find any decent documentation about the IMAPC feature. Could someone please explain the purpose of this feature? In particular, what are the differences between IMAPC and reverse proxying? Thanks.

doveadm backup abort in imapc-client.c
I am using Dovecot 2.2.36 and I am trying to use doveadm backup to migrate email from Gmail to Dovecot. When I run doveadm backup, it goes for a while and then eventually hits an assertion error (I've tried this a few times now and it happens reliably). The assertion failure looks like this: dsync(evan at eklitzke.org): Panic: file imapc-client.c: line 179 (imapc_client_run_pre):

dovecot-2.2: dsync to imapc not working
Hello. I have dovecot installation # dovecot --version 20130205 (03a0af22100d+) built with imapc backend. I'm tried to sync mailboxes from another server after clean mail directory localy: # dsync -v -o imapc_user="user at example.org" -o imapc_password="pass" -o imapc_host=imap.example.org -o imapc_features=rfc822.size -o mailbox_list_index=no backup -R -f -u

2.1b6 imapc sync error
I received this error at the end of a migration from imapc to mdbox. Is it because I wanted doveadm 'sync' instead of 'backup'? I didn't get time to do any testing, but since you're pushing for the release, here it is: kerio2:~ adminuser$ /opt/dovecot/bin/doveadm -o imapc_user=jsample -o imapc_password=****** -o imapc_host=*.*.*.* sync -R -u jsample_dc at mydomain.com

dsync imapc authentication mechanisms
I'm trying to use dsync to mirror mail onto a remote IMAP server. The remote server is generating an error that authentication via plain text is not permitted. Does dsync imapc support any non-clear-text authentication mechanisms? The remote server supports: AUTH=CRAM-MD5 AUTH=DIGEST-MD5 AUTH=NTLM -- Randall Gellens Opinions are personal; facts are suspect; I speak for myself

imapc problem
hello, I have some trouble when trying to migrate from another imap server to dovecot with imapc/dsync/doveadm. when running "doveadm -o imapc_user=foo -o imapc_password=bar backup -R -u localuser imapc:" all is ok. But when running "doveadm -o imapc_user=foo -o imapc_password=bar sync -R -u localuser imapc:", all local mods are overwritten. For example deleting a

Smart IMAP proxying with imapc storage
I just committed a very early initial implementation of "imapc" storage backend to v2.1 hg: http://hg.dovecot.org/dovecot-2.1 You can't really do anything except open INBOX and read mails from it, so it's currently only intended for initial testing. It sucks in many ways right now, but I'll be improving it. The idea is that you could set for example: mail_location =

imapc with Outlook.com transfers max 22-23 messages per mailbox!?
Hi, I'm trying to migrate a user from Outlook.com IMAP to Dovecot. Using dsync to export mail to remote IMAP account
I've read the web/man pages on dsync, but it's not clear to me whether dsync can be used to export (rather than import) a user's mailbox to a remote non-dovecot IMAP account. (The intention is to use it whenever a user leaves and wants to copy their local mail to Google or whatever. I currently use uw-imapd's mailutil -- it works, but it's dreadfully slow.) As a first crack

imapc - different settings for different namespaces
Originally I was planning on allowing all kinds of mail settings inside namespace {}, including imapc_* settings. But that's a bit difficult to implement (although I think it will happen some day). So for now I was thinking: imapc foo { host = imap.foo.com master_user = foomaster password = foopass } imapc bar { host = imap.bar.com ... } namespace { prefix = foo/ location =

imapc and imap_acl
Hello (Timo), yes, I know... maybe it's a bit far fetched, but I do have a use case. Would it be (reasonably easily) possible to implement IMAP ACL support for "imported" imapc namespaces/mailboxes? There is no local directory (like with the virtual plugin) yet... Greetings, Lutz -- Lutz Pre?ler <Lutz.Pressler at SerNet.DE> http://www.SerNet.DE/ SerNet Service

Is it possible to disable pipelining in imapc?
Hi, I've a broken IMAP server, which doesn't support pipelining and fails on dovecot's attempt to do this ([C] is dovecot's imapc, [S] is the IMAP server): [C] 24 LOGIN "user" "pass" [S] 23 OK [C] 25 SELECT "INBOX" [C] 23 UID FETCH 2 (INTERNALDATE) [S] 25 OK [S] 23 BAD No mailbox selected Sadly, fixing the server would be a hard task, turning off
