Is Samba 3.5 Franky?
I know 3.5 isn't done yet, but is it going to be the Franky 3/4 AD DC capable system that people have hoped for and Samba.org still suggests (but the initial branching response suggests maybe it isn't). E.g.: smb.conf include = smb.conf.%U It include only smb.conf. at first time. I find no information about it so I try write patch for it. Please could you say me, if it's wrong? I have no problem

ADS Authentication - CLDAP request failed
I have a RHEL 5 system, with Samba 3.0.33 installed, that _used_ to authenticate against the corporate Active Directory system without any problems. However, about a month ago the connection broke, but the users didn't complain until some time went buy. I've spent quite a few hours trying to reconnect this system, but nothing works. I do not believe it is a simple configuration problem,

Samba suddenly restart and replication does not works anymore
I'd check for differences in the ldap trees with samba-tool ldapcmp first If such are found try an manual full sync replication to fix the difference. I had an similar issue a while back and an deleted object on one dc caused such sigterm's. Had to get that deleted object out of the way afterwards the dc's where stable again. Samba 3/4 - Franky - AD
Hello I had exactly the same problem. However, I downloaded and installed GIT (apt-get install git-core in Debian / Ubuntu). I then did: git clone git://git.samba.org/samba.git samba cd samba git checkout v3-5-stable cd source3 ./configure --enable-merged-build make make install If you haven't already done so, you need lots of development libraries, for example

Unknown domain
I am running RHEL 2.1 and samba 2.2.12. When I try to map a network drive on my XP workstation, I browse for folder. I see my domain. I expand my domain and when i see my server, I click it but there are no shares beneath. If I map the drive by entering the servername and share as \\servername\share and click Browse, it should take me to the domain entry but instead it shows the domain as Unknown.

Problem with Samba 3.4 Franky: Internal Error starting Samba3
Hi all, I got a problem while trying to set up a Samba 3.4 Server in hybrid-mode. After trying for some time I managed doing a merged-build of Samba3 and Samba4 and I can now start samba4 without getting errors. However, the same is not true for Samba3: starting it, I get the below error message. Has anyone an idea about what the reason could be? Did I miss anything during build/setup?

ftp://samba.org/pub/samba/alpha and all mirror sites. plenty of alpha releases have got to be good for the soul. - fixed security = domain. i had some nice recursion problems, i love filling up my process table with samrd and lsarpcd calling each other (...only kidding). - fixed up netlogond so that pam_ntdom can contact it on a domain loopback _even_ for domain logons, and netlogond will

samba-tool dns serverinfo
Good Afternoon, I successfully joined an Ubuntu 14.04 server with Samba 4.1.9 to my existing domain. I want this server to become my Master, but before I attempt to seize roles, I have been double and triple checking all of the configuration files and DNS entries. I noticed that this server's dns serverinfo differs from the other three servers. For it's aipServerAddrs and aipListenAddrs,

Samba 3.5 loses local master browser election to Win7 32bits
Hi All: I'm facing a weird behavior with Samba 3.5.10. It's a CentOS 6.3 repository RPM. Samba is acting as a PDC and integrated with OpenLDAP 2.4.23, also a CentOS RPM, through smbldap-tools 0.9.3 (from EPEL). In my network I have Windows 7 64 bits and Windows 7 32 bits. The problem is that Samba is losing local master browser 'status' to Win7 32 bits machines. From time to
