FW: Combined grouped and stacked bargraph
Dear R list, It appears that my request from yesterday got a bit garbled. I have tried to rephrase and retype it - please let me know if you can help me - I am having some trouble drawing a bar-graph with two groups, both of which are stacked. I would like to plot the conservation status according to two classifications (i.e. my groups - IUCN status and national status), and for each of those

Combined grouped and stacked bargraph
Dear R list, I am having some trouble drawing a bar-graph with two groups, both of which are stacked. A sample of my data (IUCN and national conservation status for marine and terrestrial species) look like this: Status IUCN Terrestrial IUCN Marine National CS Terrestrial National CS Marine NE 168 69 16 69 LC 41 6 148 6 NT 5 4 7 4 VU 4 2 7 2 EN 4 2 4 2 CR 1

ggplot2 - legend for fill coulours
Dear All, I am trying to build a stacked bar plot, where I define the colours to use. I have asked this before, and I was using a solution in http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.comp.lang.r.general/100649/focus=100673 (thanks, Thierry). However, it looks this works only when the data are in the sequence of the levels in the factor defining the fill colours. When the sequence is different, the

distance matrix and hclustering
Dear R Users,i am very new to R. I want your help on an issue regarding distance matrix and cluster analysis i had discharge data of 4 rivers(a,b,c,d) in 4 vectors each having 364 values > dput(qmu)structure(list(a = c(0.26, 0.25, 0.25, 0.25, 0.24, 0.23, 0.22, 0.21, 0.21, 0.21, 0.2, 0.19, 0.19, 0.19, 0.19, 0.18, 0.18, 0.18, 0.17, 0.17, 0.17, 0.17, 0.17, 0.17, 0.17, 0.17, 0.17, 0.17, 0.17, 0.17,

changing order of lattice plots
Hi, This is another question relating to my 2 factor figure. densityplot(~End-Begin | Type * Chromosome, data=Mon, layout=c(5,12), xlab="Element Length",type="percent", col="grey60", strip=strip.custom(style=3, bg="grey90", par.strip.text=list(cex=0.5))) I would like to flip the plot so those at the bottom are at the top and so on. I have tried using a

B-W stacked area chart with pattern
Dear all, I would like to create a stacked area chart to show the development of species biomass over time. Since it is intended for publication I need to prepare in black and white. I have tried to modify the "stackedPlot" function submitted to this list by Christian Lasarczyk on Tue, 16 Aug 2005 using shading lines rather than colors to distinguish between the species.

Colour code y-axis labels on a dot plot
Dear R helpers I would like to be able to colour code the y-axis labels on a complex dot plot by a variable known as company (of which there are only two). The code is below and data attached. Thanks MarkM library("lattice") library(latticeExtra) # for mergedTrellisLegendGrob() # set size of the window windows(height=10, width=7,rescale=c("fixed")) ##read the data to a

gradient fill of a grid.polygon
Dear list, Following a recent enquiry, I've been playing with the idea of creating a colour gradient for a polygon, using the Grid package. The idea is to draw a number of stripes of different colours, using the grid.clip function. Below is my current attempt at this, library(grid) rotate.polygon <- function(g, angle=0){ # utility function, works fine matR <- matrix(c(cos(angle),

Dot plot with two grouping variables concurrently
Dear R help(ers). I'm an R-learner (about 10 hours now) trying to make a ranked dot plot where the symbols are coded by two variables concurrently. I'm trying to use Deepanyan Sarkar's book 'Lattice' as a guide but get the feeling it is a bit advanced for my level of understanding. I have three questions Q1. Right now I like to know how to get the dual coding working

How to get legend outside of plot?
I am creating a CDF plot function more user-friendly than any default r function. Depending upon the bimodality of the data (it is often bimodal), or any other strange data trends, the points can end up gathering in just about any corner of the plot. So, when I add a legend, whether I choose to add it in the bottom right, top left, or wherever, it will sometimes end up putting the legend right

Multiple stacked barplots on the same graph?
Dear R-Users, I would like to know whether it is possible to draw several stacked barplots (i.e. side by side on the same sheet)... my data look like : Cond1 Cond1' Cond2 Cond2' Compartment 1 11,81 2,05 12,49 0,70 Compartment 2 10,51 1,98 13,56 0,85 Compartment 3 1,95 0,63 2,81 0,22 Compartment 4 2,08 0,17

Ordering of stack in ggplot (package ggplot2)
I'm trying to reproduce the 3rd graph on the page of this site: http://learnr.wordpress.com/2009/03/17/ggplot2-barplots/ . However, the data below produces a ggplot with the stacks sorted in alphabetical order from the bottom up. I'd like the stacks to be in the order "Europe", "Asia", "Americas, "Africa", "Oceania". Is there an easy way to

error bars on line plot with error bars using ggplot
I'm new to this and struggling away with ggplot. I need to plot some line graphs for about 4 series. I have the values to plot and also the value of the standard error of the value. Is it possible to plot the standard error bars when the value are already calculated as opposed to letting R do the analysis to calculate the SE bars? Any simple example would be most appreciated. Thanks J

dimensions of stacked barplot
I'm plotting stacked barplots using: > barplot(tmp, beside=F) This gives me several stacked bars. Each stack is divided into several segments. I'd like to add a dotted line from the edge of one segment to the same edge on the next stacked bar. This might help to see which stack shrinks or expands from one stacked bar to the next. I'm thinking that I could overlay dotted lines

[External] Error in percentage stacked barplot
Dear Richard,? Thank you very much for your reply. I went through the code and it worked. I was also able to change the colours.? I was wondering if I can change the legend position; instead of being in the bottom to be on the left side.? I tried the following but without any success strip = FALSE strip.right = TRUE likert(t(hellisheidi), ReferenceZero=.5, xlab="X-lab",

order in stacked barplot
Hello i did a stacked barplot using ggplot and R arranged the bars of the items in different orders. i don?t know why. but i want to have the same order in every stacked bar. I used the code data1 <- read.table("N_O_W_MAI.txt", header=TRUE, dec = ",") attach(data1) Teich1<-factor(Teich,levels=c(5,7,9,11,"G") ,ordered=is.ordered(Teich))
