CamFrog and Wine 0.9.19
Hi All, Just wanted to make a note that CamFrog appears to be quite close to being operational. I'm referring to the free client at www.camfrog.com - 3.72. After installation, I was able to start the application, create an ID, and sign in with that ID. Then I was able to browse chat rooms, and even join those rooms. Upon joining a room, another window opened up with my webcam, looks good.

The pros and cons of a wiki AppDB
2009/3/7 Rosanne DiMesio <dimesio at earthlink.net>: > I can think of one possible benefit. There are a lot of apps without maintainers, and there might be users of those apps who would be willing take a few minutes to post bits of useful information in a wiki, but don't want the responsibility of being a maintainer. Sure, they could just post info in a comment, but user comments are

Anyone used Siemens SIP/Dect phones?
Hi all, I am close to purchasing some new DECT phones for our home office here in the UK. We use Asterisk and I am sorely tempted by the Siemens C475IP or the "soon-to-become-available-in-the-uk" S685IP. Both systems have great feature sets and, on-paper at least, look to be the bee's knees. Anyone got any skeletons on them? Thanks Alan -- The way out is open!

Cannot map to other client shares
Presumably this is still configured as a classic domain. I recently upgraded my domain controllers from 3.6.25 to 4.4.7. (actually, I tried adding badlock patches to 3.6.25 but had issues.) Samba 4 has a different default max protocol than samba 3. You probably need to add the following to smb.conf server max protocol = NT1 Otherwise the default is SMB3. With a classic

Cannot map to other client shares
That is really weird. I think what is happening is that if you log in immediately you are using cached credentials. If you wait a little bit then your network connections are up and you are truly doing network authentication. If you were do unplug from the network, reboot, login with cached credentials, and then reconnect network cable I would suspect your access to shares would be OK. I

Cannot map to other client shares
I have had a very odd problem for a while now, and am hoping this will ring a bell for someone who can point me in the right direction. I had a previous Samba DC (v3.5.6) in my home network, running on a command-line Slackware box. For a variety of reasons I decided to switch to Debian Jessie, which included an upgrade to Samba 4.2.10. I did NOT properly migrate my samba files to the new

What else, if anything do I need to install alongside WINE od do to WINE to get it

Cannot map to other client shares
Suggested changes applied to smb.conf (and yes, server role is classic PDC): server max protocol = NT1 client signing = auto client ipc signing = auto server signing = auto With no apparent change to the behaviour or resolution to the problem(s). I'm particularly mystified by the logging-in behaviour (that is, if I manage to do it quickly I can log in, but if I

Accessing the host server's file system from a guest OS
Is there no way in which one can access the host's filesystem from within a guest OS. Libvirt's virt-manager GUI seems to indicate that there is, by virtue of the FileSystem Passthrough option as shown below [image: Inline image 1] The scenario I typically have is a Linux Server on a ext4 file system, with a Windows 7 Guest OS running a KVM machine. No matter what combination of

Sad news about JW Schultz
I was saddened to learn today that JW Schultz was found dead back on March 27th of this year. JW was a big help in the recent development of rsync and I sorely missed his presence during the last release cycle. JW was also the author of the Dirvish backup software, and Keith Lofstrom (who provided me with the sad news) has plans to put some memorial information onto the new dirvish site as

determining the order in which points are plotted
I make plenty of scatterplots, especially using scatterplot.matrix from library(car). One thing I don't know how to do is determine which points are plotted last. Sometimes I plot a large number of points for multiple groups represented by different colors. I would like to guarantee that point that are far from the centroid for their group are plotted last. This way they will be

DND on a Polycom IP450
Only slightly asterisk related I suppose, but hoping someone has attempted this... I have an old installation with a bunch of IP501s, and one died. I replaced it with an IP450, and the user sorely misses his DND button. I hated those DND buttons anyway, as I couldn't control them centrally. I'd *like* to program one of his softkeys to send a *XX sequence to do DND on the

Bug in "transform"?
Dear useRs, Here is a weird behavior of transform function: mtcars1<-matcars transform(mtcars1,t1=3,t2=4) Error in data.frame(`_data`, e[!matched]) : arguments imply differing number of rows: 32, 1 instead, this works: mtcars1$t1<-0 transform(mtcars1,t1=3,t2=4) also works if applied in turn: transform(mtcars1,t1=3) transform(mtcars1,t2=4) I often need to use this

Surface Graphic
Hello list! I have a problem with the function 'persp'. I have a data set with the variables X -> The X coordenate of the insect Y -> The Y coordenate of the insect deep-> how deep the insect buried into the soil. I would like to have a plot with a surface simulating the way the insect buried. Is it possible? If I type persp(x,y,deep) R gives me this error message Error in
