Labeling lines in xyplot
Hello, I apologize in advance as this example seems really elementary. Below I have created a simple scatterplot with lines. I would like to label each line with the name of the village, instead of using a legend. Can someone please let me know how to do it. Thanks in advance -- John Pop=c(1406,1862,2333,2664,2685,2521,2726,0,0,0,0,214,289,365,900,952,1002,1205,1041,942,1004,

problem with samba 3.0.28/Solaris 8/smbclient
Dear Samba users, I am trying to update our local samba packages to 3.0.28. They are built against heimdal-1.0.1 and openldap-2.3.38. The Redhat Enterprise Linux 3 and 4 packages are working fine so far in my limited testing. The problem with heimdal and "net ads join..." has been fixed on all 3 platforms. On the Solaris 8 server, the "net ads join..." works correctly and the

Jitter in xYplot?
Hello, The simple example below plots three species by year and site. However, I would like the points to occur in groups horizontally, rather than on top of each other. I thought jitter might work, but haven't been successful in getting it to do what I want. Any ideas? Thanks in advance. John wt=rnorm(27,5,0.6) yr=rep(c(2000,2001,2002),each=3)

3.0.28 continuously dumping core
Hello all Compiled 3.0.28 from source and get continuous core dumps. The machine running as PDC continous to work though. Core dumps are reproduceable and happen when, for example, I am trying to connect to a share that does not exist as well as when I install a new printer driver using the Microsoft wizard thing. We are running two other machines with 3.0.28 without any core dumps at all.

Samba 3.0.28 buffer overflow
Folks, Came across a reproduceable fault with HP's latest version of Samba which is based on 3.0.28 code.....wouldn't surprise me if this has been fixed in later versions. Did a new install last week on OpenVMS 8.4 for a customer to run his CMS on. We can write several thousand files no problem, but when it comes to manipulating the modified date on each of the files samba will choke on

root postexec issue on both Samba 3.4.5 and 3.0.28
Hi, there I'm using Samba 3.4.5 and 3.0.28 on RHEL 5.2, and I noticed that on both samba servers 'root postexec' script in [netlogon] is executed automatically when logged in for around 11 minutes. This makes me crazy to track when a use is logged out. The man page smb.conf.5 says: " postexec (S) This option specifies a command to be run whenever the service is

samba 3.0.28 and dropboxes
All, I searched archives and found one related to our problem, with subject "samba 3.0.26a and dropboxes", but there was no solution. So posting this again for hopes of a fix. We have dropboxes where users can drop files in someone else's dropbox folder. You have write permissions but not read for the folder. In UNIX the dropbox permision is set as 2733. This all

Problems Joining an ADS domain
We are having problems joining onto our 2003 server domain. This is strange in that other linux clients on our network are NOT having problems. It appears that the domain will not allow new linux machines to join the domain, even when allowing existing machines that have the exact same configuration, to authenticate from the domain. In order to test this I have taken a stripped down debian box

[LLVMdev] Build problem, in com.h
I am having some trouble getting llvm to build. I found some strange stuff going on in gcc/f/com.* In com.h I find ffeinfoKindType ffecom_gfrt_basictype ( ffecomGfrt ix); yet, in com.c I see ffeinfoBasicType ffecom_gfrt_basictype ( ffecomGfrt gfrt) I tried changing the line in com.h to ffeinfoBasicType ffecom_gfrt_basictype ( ffecomGfrt ix); and then doing make clean && make but I got a

upgrade 3.0.28 to 3.5.3 (SerNet package)
Hi all, I have been upgrading the samba package on a SLES10 (i686) machine with the new SerNet 3.5.3 package. The server is using the ldap backend for users and passwords. It has been working fine until I tried to use a DOS lan manager client. A normal user was not able to "net use * \\server\share" and authenticate using the userid and password. The error message in the smbd.log file

Samba 3.0.28/3.0.32
I've looked at the CentOS docs-list as well as the Wiki as I was interested in Samba. On one CentOS box I've got 3.0.32 (the latest bug-fixed version from Samba.org) and on another I've got 3.0.28 (the latest from upstream). The docs look almost the same and the docs refer to security = share. However 3.0.32 comes with a blank smb.conf making it harder to get a secure server up and

Need help upgrading from 3.0.4 to 3.0.28
I have a FreeBSD 5.2.1 machine running Samba 3.0.4. I am going to upgrade Samba to 3.0.28. The process I would follow would be... download source configure make make install My questions are... 1. Can I "make install" with users connected to the samba server and using shares? 2. Can I just restart nmbd and smbd to run the new version? What happens to connected users if I

3.0.24 to 3.0.28 upgrade, lost printers (name length?)
Hi, I recently upgraded from 3.0.24 to 3.0.28 on my Slackware 11.0 PDC. I have just noticed several printers have disappeared (they still exist and work in cups but they do not show up in the share listing on the server and users who have them set up cannot print). Most of the printers are still present, the ones the disappeared have names that are 17 or more characters, the remaining

sync+Rnw+TeXShop, again
Hi All -- I'm not sure this is the natural place for this question, but this list is the place with the best Sweave-TeXShop-sync discussion so far. My problem is that sync+Sweave+TeXShop works sometimes and not others, and it's not consistent. The failure, in which sync from PDF opens the .tex file instead of the .Rnw file, always comes after a code chunk. If I start from a simple

apcupsd
Anyone else around using apcupsd? I seem to be seeing a problem, and I'd like someone to check me on it: I edit /etc/apcupsd/apccontrol to replace the value of SHUTDOWN from /sbin/shutdown to /bin/false (we don't want 3 or 6 servers shutting down over a 2 second or so blip, which it really wants to do). What's happened is that a machine shut down the other day, and looking at it, I
