samba 3.2.5 + ACLs - read/write permission become read only
IN SHORT: - READ+WRITE becomes READ ONLY - OWNER ACL Permissions for "another User" affects Group ACL Permissions Hi Experts, we recently figured some strange behaviour on our Debian 5 (Lenny, uname 2.6.26-2-686) + Samba 2:3.2.5-4lenny14 server that i would like to discuss here. I cannot tell apart if its a bug or just lack of understanding. Here is the Scenario: I got a samba

Can't get 'dos filemode' to work as expected
Hello, After an upgrade to samba 3.5.8 (from 3.2.5) the option 'dos filemode' does not seem to work anymore. If I (as a user) do not own the file I can't change permissions. I am user 'felix' and member of supplementary group 'Development'. To test things I use the following share definition: [Temp] path = /srv/samba/file-shares/tmp browseable =

Confusion berween file and direcory
I have some trouble with a samba 3.5.8 server when setting directory attributes. On a windows XP I execute a small peace of code that calls 'SetFileAttributes' for the directory 'test-dir' located on the samba server. Using log level 10 I find this: [2011/05/26 15:27:02.144060, 3] smbd/process.c:1298 (switch_message) switch message SMBtrans2 (pid 28903) conn 0x7f5e35f0dbb0

lmtp problem with wrong index path
Hello, we've been using dovecot for pop3 and imap for some time now and we're in the middle of deploying lmtp as well, however we're run into a problem we can't solve. Specifically for some reason it seems that dovecot tries to write to the wrong index file during some, but not all, lmtp deliveries. If lmtp tries to deliver to person user_a at domain, sometimes it'll try to

nlme: correlation structure in gls and zero distance
Dear listers, I am trying to model the distribution of fox density over years in the Doubs department. Measurements have been taken on 470 plots in March each year and georeferenced. Average density is supposed to be different each year. In a first approach, I would like to use a general model of this type, taking spatial correlation into account:

From: Matt Fleming <matt.fleming at intel.com> Here are the patches that I've got queued up based on the very helpful feedback I received from people testing Syslinux 5.00-pre9. Unless anyone has any concerns these will make it into Syslinux 5.00-pre10. Matt Fleming (9): pxe: Don't call open_config() from the pxe core ldlinux: Print a warning if no config file is found

ICECast in Flash / IEWin
Hello, I'm using a flash player. First It didn't work with icecast 2. The blocking difference between icecast 1 and icecast 2 is that icecast 2 don't send the Content-Length header. So, I made a small PHP proxy and now Flash works very well with icecast 2. Other solution is to add this header in the icecast 2 source code and compile it, but I don't have time to test. My

Permission denied on server root for all users
Hello, I've tried to set up a member server for my AD domain, but all users get "Permission Denied" when accessing the server, even without a share specified (by entering \\ika in Windows Explorer). Samba version is  4.2.10-debian on Debian Jessie. I've mapped DOMAIN\Administrator to root, which allows the Administrator to connect to the server and set permissions. wbinfo -g

Issues Building WINE 1.3.25 and 1.3.26 on Aptosid AMD64
Hello, all: Last week I purchased a new computer that had significantly more RAM than the 3GB my last system had, and as such I moved from the i386 version of Aptosid to the AMD64 version. My new system also has a dedicated video card instead of the integrated graphics my last one had, so I was anxious to get myself set up with Portal and Portal 2. Upon installing debs for 1.3.25, I found that

Alternatively you can just script the window media player control, and bind it to your stream, that should work just fine, assuming you have my directshow filters installed. Plot and lm
I want to make a log-log plot with a regression line, but I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. What I'm trying is: plot(mass,area, log="xy", pch=as.numeric(food)) abline(lm(mass~area)) or plot(mass,area, log="xy", pch=as.numeric(food)) islands$logmass <- log(mass) islands$logarea <- log(area) attach(islands) abline(lm(logmass~logarea)) But that does
