Multiple-Line Comment (PR#13503)
Hello, sorry for writing here because my problem is not a realt bug but may be a solution for many people working with R: I miss the feature for commenting some lines of code at once without writing a bunch of "#" in front of each line. This is interesting for trying out some code. I found some workarounds like IFELSE(FALSE){} and `!`<- function(x) { if (inherits(x,

Mounting share using cifstab fails with NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED
Hi, I have a samba share on a linux server which I can access without problems from Windows XP. When I access the share from a different linux machine using smbclient \\\\Server\\Share -U username I get a connection to the share. When put //Server/Share /mnt/mountpoint cifs username=UserName,password=XXXXXXXX,uid=1234,gid=5678 into /etc/samba/cifstab I get mount error(13): Permission

username change
Hi, I need to change the unix username on a samba server. How can I change the samba username stored in passwd.tdb It is important not to loose the domain integration. The name of the corresponding profile on the windows machine need not change. When the user information was stored in smbpasswd, I could simply rename the user in the file. How do I do that in passwd.tdb? opensuse 11.3

How about this option for nmbd?
Hi, please imagine the following scenario: We have 4 local samba networks consisting of multiple samba machines and Win95 and NT machines as well. They all talk to each other and all works well. We have one central (samba) WINS server for all 4 nets. These 4 nets are connected together and communicate to the outside world through a firewall. Now I want to connect to exactly one share on the

Favorite print command for SAMBA on Sol 2.5.1
I am having problems with the HP printers that are being handled by a Solaris 2.5.1 machine. The boring details are towards the end. The SAMBA print command I currently use is: print command = echo %u - %s to %p at %T >> /tmp/smb-print.log ; \ lpr -P %p %s ; \ rm %s ; These are EXACTLY the way they are in the smb.conf file. The server will print 99.9% of

Access denied" I chmod 777 the driver directory and spool directory. I gave specified the user as printer admin in the share. My firewall is disabled. Why is it still giving me the access denied error? Best

Automaticaly unlock files
Hi all, I've been looking for an answer for this issue but Google didn't help. So I resource to the next best thing: the Samba mailing list. Question: Is there a way to automaticaly, after a certain amount of time, unlock a file after, for example, a client crash or network problem? I know how to do it manually of course, but that is, well, cumbersome. I've looked at

inout() in splancs working properly?
I have a problem with function 'inout()' in package 'splancs' on CRAN-R Version 1.2.3 under FreeBSD4.3-STABLE. The following script produces and draws points and a polygon-surrounded area. Repeating the same script many times shows, that points on the polygon-line often, but not always, are outside of the polygon-area. library(splancs) # dataset with polygon (convex

GIS and Spatial stats
[this went to me instead of the list; MM, your list maintainer] I am digging in the wrong hole I guess. Where can I find R /S routines for spatial statistics? Also has anyone made an R link to a GIS package? Anyone out there who works in this area? Thanks Richard E. DFree and sub-Share "disk" (volume?)
James Wright <12wrigja at gmail.com> 9:56 PM (13 minutes ago) to samba Hi Samba users, I have a Samba server with a single share backed by a ZFS pool / collection of datasets. I can correctly navigate around the share, but the free space reporting within clients is inaccurate for various directories, especially those that are themselves setup as datasets in ZFS and have quota applied to

Automaticaly unlock files
Ah, a workaround! I'd seen something like this on an old thread but I've always tried to stay away from socket options. I'll give these a try. Thanks for your help P.S.: strange that I don't see more people "complaining" about this.... nut suddenly stopped working...
I almost had nut_2.0.5-3_i386.deb (from http://packages.debian.org/unstable/admin/nut - installed via dpkg, not via repository) working: * problems with getting it to come up during boot * monitoring via knutclient was OK * shutdown on low battery worked adequately, if not quite as described) and newhidups suddenly stopped talking to my Belkin F6C550-AVR . It's only been in use for a

Samba 4 File Locking
I have an old application that would kick up a warning "File is open - do you want to open in read only mode" on my previous Samba3 NT style domain set up. It's also accessing the file share thru a connection coming thru an VM setup. On my Samba 4 AD setup, I'm not getting the initial read only message. file locking seems to be different. It seems like two concurrent users can

CTDB Samba 4.10 example?
Hi there, I use Samba 4.9 since its releaseday and also had some troubles first due to the lack of informations in the wiki. Anyways... after some try & error i got it working and since i run the Cluster (non-production environment) had no errors except CTDBs monitoring of the Samba process did'nt work as i would expect it (RPC-Server was dead but CTDB did'nt complain and "ctdb
