Can't connect anymore a share in domain A from domain B since
Hi, In the past (2 months ago) : I have two AD Domain under Samba 4.1 : A and B. I war able to  connect a share in A from B. Can't connect anymore a share in domain A from domain B since
Try it like this. net use z: \\<computer in A.FQDN\<share> /USER:NTDOM\%username% Does that work for the samba 4.1, if not, check if you windows disabled smbv1 See: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4034314/smbv1-is-not-installed-by-default-in-windows Best is, upgrade you systems so you can use samba 4.7+ Greetz, Louis > -----Oorspronkelijk bericht----- > Van:

Hello, We have followed the migration from samba4.2 to samba4.6 from "http://samba.2283325.n4.nabble.com/Debian-Jessie-samba-4-5-8-2-4-5-10-4-6-5-available-td4719912.html" (van-belle) But we must put in smb.conf this instruction : "server role check:inhibit = yes". if not, nmbd fails to start. Why ? Regard

Conditional forwarders
I've asked this question because it is the first step before domain approbation. Several questions in my message : 1) With Samba AD, can we via "Windows DNS Tools" set a conditional forwarders ? 2) If yes, is it possible with samba internal dns ? 3) If we can't use "Windows DNS Tools" do we have another method to do "conditional forwarder" ? net ads testjoin OK, net rpc testjoin fails
Okay, here's another wrinkle: if I run 'net rpc testjoin' immediately after joining, it succeeds, but 'net rpc info' fails (see below for the -d10 output). 'net rpc testjoin' fails as described in my last message after a reboot. Looking at the output from the failures, I notice that 'net rpc' is looking for SRV records at '_ldap._tcp.pdc._msdcs.DOMAIN'

RPC works ADS doesn't on Mandrake 10.1?
I'm trying to setup a Linux box to authenticate on Windows Active Directory. I have winbind and samba installed and running on Mandrake 10.1. When I boot the PC it prompts me with all the usernames from my Windows 2000 Active Directory. After I login I can run: net RPC TESTJOIN (works fine) net ADS TESTJOIN (failed: Malformed representation of principal) Why won't ADS work? Carlton.

Hello (again) all! After successfully joining my Debian Jessie box to my Server 2012R2-based domain as a domain member, I've run into another snag. The installation worked successful for a couple days as a file server, and then after a while I stopped being able to access the file server. After trying various trouble-shooting steps (including nuking the samba and winbind installations and
