HostKey check for remote hosts via local ports
Another issue for which there might be some tricks that I don't know of: I have a set of ports on my local machine forwarded (via ssh LocalForward) to machines that I can't directly reach on the localhost. However, as I connect to those machines I get HostKey warnings since it looks for the HostKey of the 'localhost' and depending on the port, it is of course different. Is there

replPropertyMetaData & KCC issues after updating to Samba 4.5.0
Hi, For the unsorted attributeID values errors, can you first try: samba-tool dbcheck --cross-ncs --fix --yes 'fix_replmetadata_unsorted_attid' There's too much going on, and it does look like it might be bailing out. Running it with 'fix_replmetadata_unsorted_attid' should fix those first errors, then it will probably be easier to figure out what is happening. The

replPropertyMetaData & KCC issues after updating to Samba 4.5.0
Hello, Updated samba from 4.4.5 to 4.5.0. All DC's are Ubuntu 12.04.5 LTS. I install samba from source(./configure,make,make install). Looking at the release notes I see the section on "replPropertyMetaData Chnages". I run 'samba-tool dbcheck --cross-ncs --fix --yes' and see the errors and samba attempts to fix. ERROR: unsorted attributeID values in

Applying Dovecot for a large / deep folder-hierarchy archive - BUG REPORTS!
Hello Timo, I have scheduled some time to carry through the test requested by Aki. I will add responding to you as part of that process. Not sure if I have said or done anything to offend you, as your tone appears quite abrasive, even where you do not have an actual response to an observation. It is my view that it is a privilege to provide an open source platform, and therefore a

smb locks
Hi, I see samba with ctdb locking has following mapping when kernel oplocks = yes. share mode reservations = flock(2) posix byte range locking = fcntl(2) SMB locks (mandatory) = ctdb using brlock.tdb oplocks = fcntl(2) using F_SETLEASE Am I correct or I am missing something? I hope only SMB range locks are implemented with tdb, all else are being used from filesystem. What

Applying Dovecot for a large / deep folder-hierarchy archive - BUG REPORTS!
Your report is most appreciated, though it lacked quite a lot of detail that could've expedited the investigation why it happened. With the further information we can hopefully figure out why you are experiencing the problems you reported. There is no offense intended. Trouble with word-wrapping and other Tinn-R options
I'm running R 2.7.1 with Tinn-R 2.0.0.7 and Windows XP Professional. I have write privileges to the folders containing my R installation, my Tinn-R installation, and my Tinn-R initialization settings. I installed R first, followed by Tinn-R. I have modified my RProfile.site file (in Tinn-R, R>Configure>Permanent). My previous installations of Tinn-R and R worked fine, but on a

Xapian.org design
Hi guys We were talking a little while ago about putting together some content to provide more examples of operations for first-time users. One of the other thoughts that's come up is about the design of the Xapian site; we've a bit of spare designer capacity at work and were wondering if we could do you a jazz-ed up site design (for free) and wondered if this'd be something the

Relevance, weighting and searching by specifically weighted text
Hi guys In our implementation of Xapian for one of our sites, we index the title, subtitle, summary and table of contents of around 200,000 products on ReportBuyer.com. When we create each Xapian doc to index this information, we apply a weighting to each of these 'fields' and add these to the doc using index_text with the second parameter passing in a weighting. I've been asked if
