Scenario with CIFS
Hi all! I'm trying to get samba working with CIFS, mounting a share on a client and keeping the original file/dir permissions. The problem is that after I (successfully) mount that share by CIFS, I can't write anything in it, because I get a 'Permission denied' error. smbd version is 6.3.6. My testparm is: root at samba:~# testparm Load smb config files from /etc/samba/smb.conf

Mac clients trouble with NFD accented characters on Samba share
File names on a Samba share with accented characters using the NFD form of UTF8 cannot be seen or used by Mac clients. Yes, I've deleted the main samba package and the service is not running now. Tried what? Logs must be created automatically, without my effort. All this questioning sucks - it just wastes my time. It must look like this - I hand you the log of the client for that day and then you figure out by yourself what was going on. But the logs I have left from that day don't contain that message. I
