winbind + rpc windows
Hi, I've managed to configure winbind to use RPC instead of AD to authenticate users. I was able to do a few auths and from nothing winbind started to crash with the following error message: Any hint on what may be the error? I've already deleted all tdb files and restarted the services, and the server, and don't get it solved. [2009/07/29 14:19:01, 0] winbindd/

Users can't login on XP workstations
Hello, I'm running Samba 3.2.5 on Debian, with tdbsam backend. For the past few days, I've had trouble with starting Samba (which I do routinely once a day) but with users unable to login on Windows workstations. When this happens, the current smbd.log shows no activity (not even the "starting samba" event) and the previous day's smbd.log shows entries like these:

crash while building index
Hi, I''m trying to reindex a model (I''m using acts_as_ferret) after having added (via metaprogramming) a large number of fields (several hundred) to the index. It keeps crashing when trying to rebuild the index (the crash log is below, from ferret_server.out) but it only seems to crash on Linux (Ubuntu server 7.04, x86-64) whereas it''s fine on my OS X laptop

Memory corruption in dynamically loaded code
Hello, I've compiled some Fortran code and dyn.loaded it into R as in the "Writing R Extensions" manual. The code receives four large arrays of doubles from R (size about 3000x3000), and runs through several loops with BLAS calls. However, I get a memory corruption error when running it -- the full output is attached at the end. I've been trying to pinpoint and solve

1 TByte (99,5%) data missing on rsync backup???
Hi, I have a weird problem with RSync: On a NAS are about 1,2 TB data. When I plug in a harddisk and make a backup with RSync, "df -h" shows the backup disk filling up to nearly 1,2 TB. But after RSync has finished, there are only 3.7 GB on the backup disk. System: Linux nas 2.6.37-gentoo-r4 #1 SMP Tue May 3 19:54:31 CEST 2011 x86_64 Intel(R) Atom(TM) CPU 330 @ 1.60GHz GenuineIntel

Is this a bug?
I have found a strange "ifelse" behaviour (I think) This works: > ifelse(T,1+1,1+2) [1] 2 > ifelse(F,1+1,1+2) [1] 3 Maybe I missed something about R internals, but why > ifelse(T,print("hello"),print("goodbye")) [1] "hello" [1] "hello" > ifelse(F,print("hello"),print("goodbye")) [1] "goodbye" [1]

Under Windows, Rgui and Rterm crash if one tries to close the graphic device while identify or locator are running
minimal reproducible example plot(1,1) identify(1,1) # or locator() now, trying to close the window by clicking on the cross of the upper right corner causes Rgui (and Rterm) to crash. I see the same behaviour on 2 different Windows PC (one with Win 8.1 and one with Win 10). I did not see the problem in linux (see below) WINDOWS ************** > sessionInfo() R version 3.3.0 beta

(PR#9613) [Wishlist] to uniform help(x) and library(help=x)
What library(help=foo) produces is not HTML and has no hyperlinks, so why do you want it displayed in a browser? If you do want text displayed in a browser, you can set options("pager") to point to your browser (or a wrapper). It is no different from other library() help modes, like library() with no argument, nor from help(package="foo"). Indeed, the help for help says
