Samba + Antivirus
List, we are working on implementing an antivirus solution (samba-vscan + clamav)on our samba shares. We performed the steps mentioned on some guides we found in Portuguese and things seems to be installed ok. But when we make a test and try to access a share, every file on it is not accessible (though we can mount the share) and after looking at /var/log/messages we see the following: ... Mar 11

Megatec driver floods logs #2 & mail notifications
Hi there! I'm a n00b NUT user trying to get it running on RHEL5 and actually do something useful for me. Few questions: 1) I want it to notify me by email on power loss and power back events. I can't find any sample scripts for this purpose... Where shall I look for them? 2) So far, I've backported the package from Fedora and got my Ablerex running (previously used with Upsilon /

RE: standby mode
I think you answered your own question. Samba (smbd) is a service. It is doing its job and ready to offer service at any time. Apparently this involves periodically accessing the disk. There is nothing wrong with this; it is normal operation. Samba won't work anyway when you are in standby, so you might as well stop it when you are done using it. PG > -----Original Message----- >

[PATCH] qemu: Introduce VIRTIO_NET_F_STANDBY feature bit to virtio_net
This feature bit can be used by hypervisor to indicate virtio_net device to act as a standby for another device with the same MAC address. I tested this with a small change to the patch to mark the STANDBY feature 'true' by default as i am using libvirt to start the VMs. Is there a way to pass the newly added feature bit 'standby' to qemu via libvirt XML file? Replicating SIP registration Info between active to standby
I have a scenario whereby two servers are acting in active-standby mode. In case the active server fail, the shared IP is activated on standby server for continuity. However, SIP phones (all are Polycom) takes quite a long time to register to the Standby Server (up to 1-10min). While Polycom allow double registration, we would like to make it simple by provision only one registration server at a
