freeRADIUS + krb5 + samba + AD
Hi, We are using freeRADIUS 1.1.6. + samba 3.0.1 + krb5-1.3.2 talk to active-directory(win2k3). Followed by: http://wiki.freeradius.org/FreeRADIUS_Active_Directory_Integration_HOWTO Now it can work. But there are multiple domains in active-directory. Can samba or krb5 support mutiple domains? How to configure krb5.conf and smb.conf can let it support multiple domains?

Samba 3.0.x, GPFS and NFSv4, ACLs and so on... ???
hi list, we have plans to implement GPFS in our heterogeneous environment (win, linux and mac clients; many linux servers) to scale better in file serving and improve availability. are there any recommendations regarding samba and GPFS and samba co-existing with NFSv4 (ACLs!) on GPFS on the same machine? or is this too experimental and we should either use samba or nfs in the cluster? i?ve read

getent not listing ADS users ctdb samba
Hi, I am setting up ctdb samba, and have hit a brick wall trying to solve the following issue. 1. getent does not retrieve the list of domain users or groups (wbinfo works fine) I'm not sure what I'm missing but I've almost spent the whole day trying to resolve this one and haven't made any progress :-( Any help or suggestions are appreciated My configuration is

Will *not* be providing RedHat 9 packages for Samba 3.0.25
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Folks, For the minority of people who still run RedHat 9 or earlier, I will not be building an RPM for Samba 3.0.25 for that platform. If someone wants to pickup maintenance of it, I'll be glad to turn it over. I will leave the RedHat-9 packaging files in for the 3.0.25pre2 release that we are currently working on, but unless I hear an outcry

Winbind 3.0.25-pre2 problems with sid2uid
Hi, I have tested winbind in samba-3.0.25-pre2 and encountered some problems. We have a working config with Linux samba-3.0.23d and W2k3 AD R2 rfc2307bis, but when I switch to 3.0.25 it stopped working. I am not quite familiar with the new configuration directives for idmap, but the old config did not work either with 3.0.25, so I tried to use the new ones. Is there apparent errors in my config

NFS4 ACLs with samba 3 (or 4)
I know this was discussed a lot a few years ago, but my google searches aren't quite getting me where I'm confident in the answer, so I figure I'd just ask again here if that's ok. Here's what we have, and what we'd like to do: Storage is a Netapp (cluster mode CDOT 8.2 I believe), it's NFS exported to our linux system. Linux system is CentOS 6 and can NFS mount the

Linux & NFSv4 ACLs
I have a situation where I need to share, via Samba, a filesystem mounted via NFSv4. I'm struggling with the best way to make Samba see the NFSv4 ACLs and enumerate them to provide the proper SMB/CIFS access to the files, instead of "Access Denied" errors that I currently get. Looking at the Samba source, the only obvious NFSv4 stuff appears to be the following: - zfsacl, available

can not read file permissions via samba over gpfs
Hi, I am using samba samba3-3.3.4-39, with ctdb ctdb-1.0-69.x86_64, gpfs gpfs-3.2.1 on centos 5.3 x86_64. My problem is that from samba share I can't read file permissions and file ownership, although I'm in "domain admins" group, which has full permissions(rwx) via inherited acl (not user or group ownership). If I'm in a group that owns the file, I can read the permissions,

Change in smbclient between 3.0.24 and 3.0.25c breaks third party app
Hello list, A change in smbclient between 3.0.24 and 3.0.25c breaks [1] the gollem filemanager [2] and maybe others. In particular folder creation is broken unless the folder is a top level folder on the share. To create a subfolder "level2" in the folder /level1 of a share gollem executes this command: /usr/bin/smbclient "//1.2.3.4/sharename" "-p139"
