Hi, I am having some trouble to some Office software with wine. The Program itself starts without problems and runs quite fine. But unfortunatly I am not able to connect to our local Datebase. My Ubuntu Linux itself doesnt seem to have any problems in connecting to the server (but I admit that I don't know how to check if I can access the port 5143 that is used to connect to the database.).

Hi, i upgraded from Debian sarge to etch, so from samba 3.0.14a-3 to 3.0.24 When someone creates/modify a file the user attribut is set to r (instead of rwx) so the next time a user opens the file is's on read only. Hi. I want to use ACL on my RH-9.0 box (x86), so I got ext3 ACL patch from http://acl.bestbits.at/ and tried to apply it to the kernel that ships with RH (2.4.20-8). The patching fails on some vm file so I got a vanila kernel 2.4.20, apply the patch and compile it. This works fine. Also RH-9.0 precompiled Samba 2.2.7 works fine with ACL. (The other patch at <http://aerobee.informatik.uni-bremen.de/acl_eng.html> seems pretty much history BTW). A lot of work has gone into that project; we're approaching a very stable release soon... Now people keep asking me over and over again about ACL support in Samba.

Documentation/ext3.txt suggests that the "user_xattr" and "acl" mount options are on by default. This doesn't seem to be the case, as the kernel deduces the default mount options from the filesystem superblock, and mke2fs does not appear to write any default mount options there. Unfortunatly we can only pass DHCP ip's to hosts that exhibit a vendor code 'like windows/pxe/and other os's do".
