Fedora 9 -> Centos 7 upgrade Dovecot problem
Hi all, I'm upgrading my old F9 mail server to Centos 7 and all is going well. However, I've got a problem with recently created users. I've rsync'd /home and /var/spool/mail after moving /etc/passwd and /etc/group I used the default locations on the old F9 server, i.e. mail delivered to /var/spool/mail/%u by EXIM and Dovecot using that as the inbox. Dovecot then used ~/mail/

Fwd: pam_mount configuration for users home directories from server to client
Hi, I have a debian server with ldap, samba, smbldap-tools installed and ubuntu clients. I set pam_mount to mount the user's home directories from the ldap-samba server (amahoro) on the clients at login time and this runs. On the server the user's home directories are stored in "/users" like "/users/username". Logging by gdm appears the message: "Could not

Good SLOG devices?
Hi I''m running OpenSolaris 148 on a few boxes, and newer boxes are getting installed as we speak. What would you suggest for a good SLOG device? It seems some new PCI-E-based ones are hitting the market, but will those require special drivers? Cost is obviously alsoo an issue here.... [PATCH 0/4] HMM tests and minor fixes
These changes are based on Jason's latest hmm branch. Patch 1 was previously posted here [1] but was dropped from the orginal series. Hopefully, the tests will reduce concerns about edge conditions. I'm sure more tests could be usefully added but I thought this was a good starting point. [1] https://lore.kernel.org/linux-mm/20190726005650.2566-6-rcampbell at nvidia.com/ Ralph Campbell

Apache Charset vs html file charset
The apache httpd.conf has AddDefaultCharset UTF-8 while the page I'm viewing on my CentOS server is charset=ISO-8859-1 The page appears funny on the browser showing ?? Given that apache has the default charset shouldn't it honor it? Why the ?? characters? Spike.

[PATCH v6 0/6] mm/hmm/test: add self tests for HMM
This series adds new functions to the mmu interval notifier API to allow device drivers with MMUs to dynamically mirror a process' page tables based on device faults and invalidation callbacks. The Nouveau driver is updated to use the extended API and a set of stand alone self tests is added to help validate and maintain correctness. The patches are based on linux-5.5.0-rc6 and are for

turn hmm migrate_vma upside down v3
Hi Jérôme, Ben and Jason, below is a series against the hmm tree which starts revamping the migrate_vma functionality. The prime idea is to export three slightly lower level functions and thus avoid the need for migrate_vma_ops callbacks. Charset issue
I was playing a bit with Mongrel to test it out before using it in production, but I have an issue with Latin accented letters being all messed up. I''ve included the right content-type in the HTML and both Lighty +Fastcgi and Webrick have no problem with them. Any tips? Thanks, - michele

Best encoding/charset for rails ecommerce site?
Normally, I''d just use UTF-8 but the more I read about ruby, the more confused I am about selecting the most trouble-free encoding. I''m using ruby 1.8.2, rails 1.1.2, postgresql 7.4.7 on Debian stable. The website is in English and will sell products to U.S. and Canadian customers so it needs to support special characters found in Spanish and French names. Which of these 3

redirect_to is changing my webpage charset
Gents, I just figured out that redirect_to do something with the HTTP headers. Specially the Content-type and charset. I mean: I got diferent encodings (charsets) if I use http://myapp.com/welcome/index or http://myapp.com/welcome/ Can anyone tell me how can I solve that? Missing charset ISO8859-1.so in 3.0.6?
I recently installed and built 3.0.06 on my Solaris 9 Ultra 5 station. When I start either smbd or nmbd, the log files indicate a missing shared library during initialization, but the daemons appear to be running anyway. Specifically, the log says: [2004/09/09 09:09:07, 3] lib/module.c:do_smb_load_module(46) Error loading module '/usr/local/samba/lib/charset/ISO8859-1.so': ld.so.1:

Callerid charset problems
Hi, I'm having problems when the callerid of a user defined in the sip.conf contains special characters such as: ?, ?, ?, ?, ? , etc. The strange thing is that these characters are displayed correctly in the dialplan by using the sip show peer command, but if this user makes a call, these characters are not displayed correcly in the SIP message. Any ideas of what might be happening? Thank

Hi, We're currently using Samba server version 3.0.28 running on a Solaris 10u4 box. We share users's home directories between Unix and Windows clients and have to specify the smb.conf parameter unix charset to iso-8859-15 (or so-8859-1) to ensure correct names for files and folders (containing accents) from Windows and Unix.... everything is ok : Windows Explorer looks ok, and
