Missing Files/Missing Folders from an NFS Share
I think it has a lot to do with telldir on an NFS share returning a cookie that is supposed to be unique rather than an actual offset. Problem is, that cookie is stored as a 31bit hash which can then end up as a negative signed offset in Samba which is not handled correctly. The cookies are not necessarily consecutive as you move through a directory. On Mon, 27 Feb 2023 at 19:00, Jeremy Allison

Missing Files/Missing Folders from an NFS Share
By the way, there is nothing special about an AWS EFS share as far as I can see. It is just basically an NFS share. The answer some others were saying about Samba sharing the folder out from the NFS server isn?t possible. In AWS there is no access to the server behind EFS other than the NFS share itself. EFS has to be mounted as NFS. No other protocols are supported (eg CIFS or AFS). Anyway the

Hello, If it is on a (VMware) virtual machine, maybe the network capacity or cpu capacity might be consumed by other virtual machines ? Could there be a backup process running on the other machines ? Boot from CD -> system + data on USB storage
Hi, I am looking for a solution to boot MY system on any PC. To store most of the system and all of my data I want to use an USB storage (in my case an external USB harddisk (2.0 capable)). Since booting off an USB device is not an universal thing I would prefer to have a boot disk with a minimal system - just enough to load most (all?) of the system from the attached USB device. Is this an

Hello, unosonic, nope.... I got nothing. All I get is error code 200 or 10061 in Sam's encoder window. (I'm using it because it gives me some sort of error code feedback unlike winamp's DNAS) btw, what's up with the oddball ascii arrows in the XML files? Problem with dual streaming
I've been using liveice to feed an encoded stream to an icecast broadcast server. Now I want to feed two streams at the same time to the broadcast server. To acomplish that I am using a dual soundcard setup in a debian linux server. I've setup two different mountpoints in the icecast server wich will receive the stream and in turn will broadcast the streams to the listeners. This is, the

Any mountain clustering method in R?
Dear all, I wonder which R algorithm could perform a mountain clustering in an spatial grid, in other words, having the coordinates of a map (x,y ... or even more) and then the altitude/height at each point I would like to localise the peaks of that topological surface. Which R algorithm can perform this? I see it as a clustering problem where the peak should be at the center of each cluster.

Patch to add Beta binomial distribution. Mentor needed!
Hello, I implemented the Beta binomial distribution following the patterns of the binomial distribution code and inspired by JAGS' code [1]. I have studied the code carefully but it's my first run in the R internals. Can somebody review the code and if everything it's ok commit to the repository? [1]

Beta binomial and Beta negative binomial
Hi, I need Beta binomial and Beta negative binomial functions but in R there is only SuppDists package which provide this distributions using a limited parameter space of the generalized hypergeometric distribution (dghyper & Co.) which provide a limited parameter space for Beta binomial and Beta negative binomial functions (e.g. alpha + beta <1 in the Beta negative binomial). I've
