restricting access by reverse domain name
Is there a feature or plugin to restrict access to IMAP/POP service by the domain name in reverse lookup? It would be even better if this restriction can exclude certain users (e.g. some users can access IMAP from certain networks but other users cannot). -- sHiFt HaPpEnS!

Failed to join domain - some user account restriction has prevented successful authentication
I'm setting up a FreeBSD server as a domain member of an Active Directory environment. There's two W2K22 domain controllers in the AD. In the past, I've used the samba416 port to compile on a few FreeBSD servers. But on this new FreeBSD server, I'm using the samba416 package. After installing and configuring, I find that I am unable to join the domain. Error message as follows:

secrets.tdb and Samba 3.0.28 -> 3.3.4 migration
Hi all, When moving between Samba 3.0.X revisions, I have been able to copy the secrets.tdb file and the trust relationships with foreign domains remain established. However, this does not appear to work when moving directly from 3.0.X to the 3.3.X branch. Is there a tool available that allows us to migrate - or can tdbdump (or similar) be used to dump out data from the 3.0.X format and then be

Hi, I'm specifically have a problem with idmap entries not being created in my LDAP backend for trusted domain logons - Local accounts appear to be fine. I have installed the Sernet enterprise packages from: http://ftp.sernet.de/pub/samba/experimental/rhel/5/i386/ I'm preparing the server as follows: 1. smbpasswd -w '<password>' 2. net rpc trustdom establish SANDBOX

Restricting the manager interface to a number?
Hi! Some persons are using a TAPI driver to connect via the manager interface to the asterisk (1.4). While I can give every user his own password, I didn?t find a way to restrict a user to a certain phone number, so that he can only dial with his number via the TAPI driver and can only answer calls for another number. Is the possible? If yes, how? Thanks for the answers. Shade and sweet

Restricting access to specific IPs
Hello I tried searching the mailing list and did some googling on the topic also, but didn't find anything very useful. I'm looking for a way to restrict access to my icecast2 server (which runs on a Slackware 8.1 system) by using a list of IPs that should be allowed to connect as clients / sources. .. now how do I do this? ;-) I remember that it was possible in the older Icecast

RE: tail(<matrix>) column numbers
I also vote for the 'helpful' addition on row numbers based on the original matrix when no row names are present, with an optional argument to prevent this behaviour. -G > -----Original Message----- > From: Duncan Murdoch [mailto:dmurdoch@pair.com] > Sent: Monday, July 12, 2004 8:06 AM > To: Patrick Burns > Cc: Martin Maechler; Warnes, Gregory R; Prof Brian Ripley; >

Restricting users from certain privileges
Hi: I could not figure out how to restrict users or other users from certain privileges to execute certain commands in FreeBSD/NanoBSD? What I meant is I want to create a NanoBSD image in which there will be an additional user, say 'admin'. I need to give this new user (admin) some privileges to run some root-can-only-execute commands, but not all (ACL similar to the firmwares in adsl

Restricting to a subset of the domain controllers on a site
Had a situation where users could not map drives from Windows XP to Solaris 9 system running Samba-3.0.10 for Active Directory. This system has been running for a couple of years without problems. Now recently, the site administrators have added some new servers to the domain which may have introduced a problem. This krb5.conf file has been modified to hide the site in question. [libdefaults]

C6 server responding extremely slow on ssh interactive
I have a C6 server acting as a kvm-host. When connecting with ssh the console is extremely slow and hangs for minutes at a time. Connecting to this server is not the problem. If I use: ssh root at host "whatever" I got immediate response even when interactive consoles opened with ssh are hanging. Restrict permission changes
Hello, I've a share with preset permissions on different directories including acls. So in one folder for example users can only read and into other read and write. Everything works fine. The Problem is if one user decides to change the permission of a file or directory (via Windows) the acls and permissions get are messed up. How can I restrict users from changing permission on a share? I

Samba + AD Authentication: Restricting access to shares
Because most of our servers are restricted to specific user groups and the AD domain covers the entire university, I need to find a way to limit access to samba shares, preferably using AD security groups; i.e. I want to do something like: [EMdata] comment = TEM Data path = /EMdata valid users = @cns-cryo-emusers guest ok = no writeable = yes where cns-cryo-emusers is an

Hey Damien, thank you for your reply. I posted the debug information at https://pastebin.com/40esNPED and replaced some sensitive information before (usernames, servernames, domainnames, IP addresses). In addition I commented some lines with a message like "### <my message> ###". Patrick -----Urspr?ngliche Nachricht----- Von: Damien Miller <djm at mindrot.org> Gesendet:

restricting mails from "mail" command to specific domains only in postfix
Hi Friends, I have configured Postfix mail server on Centos for relaying mails from 5 linux servers (including itself) within the same LAN. The postfix mail server should relay mails from these 5 linux servers for specific domains only. For example hosts 192.168.0.23/24/25/26/27 and the postfix mail server should only be able to receive and send mails from and to example.com,example2.com and
