Hi, We just imported (moved) all our staff from the old w2k domain to the new w2k3 domain. Say their accounts and passwords From STAFF domain to say NEW. SELinux contexts for krb5
I have just migrated my Kerberos setup to a new machine (running inside Xen) and it is complaining at startup about the file contexts not being correct, even after running /sbin/fixfiles. On the previous machine I'm sure I had set SELinux to permissive and that's why it never complained. Here are the contexts *after* running /sbin/fixfiles -R krb5-server restore # ls -AlZ

URGENT winbind - New DOMAIN but old DOMAIN not CHANGING - Resent
Hi, We just imported (moved) all our staff from the old w2k domain to the new w2k3 domain. Say their accounts and passwords From STAFF domain to say NEW. Seems winbind is keeping the old domain users. This server was serving the STAFF domain w/o problems before users were migrated. Domain is in 2000 native mode. ADS + Samba
Hello Samba list! I have installed samba, joined it to the AD domain (lets say EXAMPLE.COM) and can auth against it with kinit. There are also 2 domains that we have a trust established with. Lets say trust1 and trust2. When I do a wbinfo -u I get: Trust1+username Trust2+username I get nothing from the local domain. I have a share set up for testing, but I cannot access it at all, I get

[ADS]Trust relationship 'expires'
Hi folks, I have an issue that has me shaking my head. Once a workstation has made the initial connection to a host, things seem to work well for a day or so. However, if the resource hasn't been accessed in a while, and then a connection is retried, this following message is returned: "\\hostname is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact

winbindd crashing/stopping
I am running RH8 with the Samba-alpha3.23 from the RPMs. I was able to use Kerberos to add machine to a Windows AD domain without any problem and was able to get winbind to function properly. I was able to get group & user listing using wbinfo -g & -u, -t responds with proper information. I have run getent for passwords & groups. Since what appeared to be a successful getent, my

Question re kerberos . . .
I've used the Samba AD DC HOWTO <https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Samba_AD_DC_HOWTO> to install Samba 4 as an Active Directory/Domain Controller. I've successfully configured the domain/realm and DNS (as far as I can tell) and worked my way through Testing Your Samba Domain Controller <https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Samba_AD_DC_HOWTO#Testing_Your_Samba_Domain_Controller>

3.0.0, winbind issues
I just upgraded our system here to 3.0.0 from RC4 last night. As usual I built an RPM from the source RPM after adding --with-acl-support to the specfile. I found that unlike previous RCs, RPM would not upgrade to 3.0.0 using -Fvh. In the end I removed RC4 and then installed 3.0.0 in the normal way (backing up and restoring /etc/samba and /var/cache/samba). However, the real issue is that

Log shows NT4 for an ADS domain
I'm trying to learn about the interactions between SAMBA and win2k DCs. The eventual goal is to have a Win2k server with ADS working with a freeBSD SAMBA server. I've used the setup from http://oslabs.mikro-net.com/fbsd_samba.html as the basis for what I've done so far. Winbind seems to work and I can show users and groups using wbinfo although I see some things in the logs that I

samba & winbind with AD 2K auth problem

I made it work correctly on my samba 2.2x, an dfrom my understanding, each time a AD user is connected, a Unix account is created, nad winbind synhronize both accounts. It looks like the user script "/usr/sbin/useradd -s /bin/false %u" doesn't work, and my

Samba 3.0.10-1.4E and RedHat ES 4.0
I have successfully, well somewhat successfully, joined a native Windows 2003 Active Directory domain as a domain member. The "home" domain has a two-way trust relationship with another domain in the same Forest. The Samba server can provide proper access to any object within it's "home" domain, however, I am having difficulty providing access to the Samba server share(s)
