Problem with SAMBA+HEARTBEAT
Hi all, I have two servers ZEUS (MASTER - 192.168.2.11) and POSEIDON (SLAVE - 192.168.2.12) with HeartBeat+DRBD+SAMBA installed ; HeartBeat is controlling SAMBA. I have a big partition which are mirrored /share. I moved all important directory on it. For example: # mv /var/lib/samba /share/cluster/varlibsamba # mv /var/cache/samba /share/cluster/varcachesamba and I make a link for each one: # ln

Is samba or a kernel bug causing my FC4 server to crash?
I've got a fully updated Fedora Core 4 server crashing hard every week or two. I use Samba via smbmount and autofs to read & delete log files on 17 XP boxs and 6 NT4SP6 boxes as well as a couple other Windows files servers every 5 minutes. The first indication of a problem I get is smbmount stops working, then the server becomes unresponsive to the point where only a power slam will fix

[PATCH] Allow matching HostName against Host entries
It would be useful to allow matching HostName entries against Host entries. That's to say, I would find it very convenient to have an ssh_config like: Host zeus HostName zeus.greek.gods User hades Host hera HostName hera.greek.gods # [ ... ] Host *.greek.gods User poseidon UserKnownHostsFile ~/.ssh/known_hosts.d/athens # [ Default settings for *.greek.gods ] where I

can join a domain, but users are not able to log in
Hi, I have a samba server which should act as a domain controller. I did not set up the server by myself. I can "see" and use the servers shares with windows and linux clients. Everithing - including the security settings - for the shares works as expected. I can join a client to the domain, this works with manual adding the machine account as well as with the adduser script . I

IceCast 1.3.11: Segmentation Violation in Linux
Hello all, When I try to run IceCast 1.3.11, it starts up okay, but crashes with Segmentation Violation as soon as a client tries to connect to it. I am suspecting that there is a race condition, because when I try to strace icecast, it works fine. I am a novice level coder, so I dont know how else I can help you. :-) This is a problem I had with 1.3.10, but I downloaded 1.3.11 to see if you

HELP cant add to ACL
I did root# net rpc join -U administrator%password on my samba 3 PDC by mistake, since then when I try to add a new entry to the ACL of a file it says: The program cannot open the required dialog box because it cannot determine whether the computer named "poseidon" is joined to a domain. It worked before issuing the net command.

IceCast 1.3.11: Segmentation Violation in Linux
*sigh* Yes, you're right... It _has_ been a few years. My drive is filling up and all, I probably have tons of old/vulnerable daemons, so it's probably time for a fresh install. I'll let you know what turns up! -P -----Original Message----- From: Jack Moffitt [mailto:jack@xiph.org] Sent: Wednesday, August 08, 2001 1:29 PM To: Kenyon, Paul Cc: icecast-dev@xiph.org Subject: Re:

Samba 3.0.14 (Debian Sarge) Memory Leakage
Hi! Our Samba file server seems to have a memory leakage. We are using samba as file server out of the box (debian sarge) on kernel 2.6.16.31. After a while users who have some shares and files open are acquiring more and more memory until the smbd dies. Here is a small shortcut from top: PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND 13843 gxxxxx 16 0 51792 44m 2552 S

Installations fail
Hi! I've tried to install several games in Wine; however, many of them can't even be installed. They should work pretty well according to the AppDB, so it has to be a problem with my computer... The problem comes up as soon as the program starts copying the files. The first few files are copied without any problems, however. OS: Ubuntu 8.10 Wine version: 1.1.13 (I upgraded after it

host list in /etc/shorewall/hosts: interface ignored
Hi, the new function ''shorewall show zones'' in 2.2.0-Beta showed a thing which is (in my view) either abug or not documented. If I have a line in /etc/shorewall/hosts which reads work br0:eth0:192.168.2.10,192.168.2.11,192.168.2.12 then "show zones" has the output work br0:eth0:192.168.2.10 br0:192.168.2.11 br0:192.168.2.12 That is, the

Problem in bridged networking
Hello, I am facing some problems in bridged networking. I have successfully created a bridge br0 and added a virtual machine to it. Now the address of virtual machine is 10.1.3.31. I am able to connect to this virtual machine by another computer on same network. The virtual machine is hosting a simple python http server on port 8000, while some other service is running on port 80 When I try

heartbeat 1.2.5 on CentOS 5?
Hello, Has anyone got Heartbeat 1.2.5 (latest Heartbeat 1 version) to compile and run on CentOS 5? I downloaded the source but hit difficulties compiling it, presumebly because it was never quite tweaked to run on the latest version. Thanks, --Amos

heartbeat segfaulting on CentOS 5 x86_64 (xen guest)
Hello, I'm having trouble running two linux-ha heartbeat nodes and have them talk to each other (or actually one of the nodes just doesn't work even for local basic admin stuff, including a simple "service heartbeat stop") and apparently it all boils down to the following Bug in Linux-HA: http://developerbugs.linux-foundation.org//show_bug.cgi?id=1678 I'm persuing this with
