cifs mounts in smbfstab
Hello, I have the following in /etc/samba/smbfstab; //msserver/share /mnt/smb-share cifs file_mode=0777,dir_mode=0777,credentials=/etc/cifsusers/admin,rw However, when using 'mount /mnt/smb_dir' I get; mount: can't find /mnt/smb_dir in /etc/fstab or /etc/mtab Using 'mount -a' doesn't mount either. If I use "smbmount /mnt/smb_dir" I get; Could not

users can't write to a subset of mounted directories
Hello I am connecting to an NT server via a Linux client. I am mounting the drive on the client via the following in smbfstab: //server/Users /home/dm215/Desktop/SambaBringover smbfs username=user,password=pass,suid,uid=1000,gid=100,fmask=770,dmask=770,rw It works fine except the local user uid=1000 cannot write to certain directories. The initial directory (//server/Users) is writable by

fstat() errors on /srv/mail/<username>/dovecot.index.log
Dovecot version 2.1.7 Ubuntu 12.04.3 LTS Kernel 3.2.0-35-generic x86_64 I'm not sure exactly when this started occurring, but sporatically users report issues receiving email, having email saved to "Sent," etc. Looking in dovecot.log, I see the following errors: 2013-10-16 09:53:20 imap-login: Info: Login: user=<user1>, method=PLAIN, rip=127.0.0.1, lip=127.0.0.1, mpid=27434,

Ok, you are completely right. gráficos de cotizaciones

nfs based shared home dir question
Hai..   I need to have my home dirs shared over some of my servers. I did setup a nfs4 kerberos base Debian jessie, samba 4.1.17 and sernet samba 4.1.3 on these servers.   This works, i can mount without problems.   But because verything is created with the windows user tools, the owner/Group is root. Like this   Server:   ls -al drwxrwx---+  2 root  root 4096 Sep  4 13:17

access users homes share
hey list, we are currently migrating our users from novell to samba. now we have one problem: in novell we could give e.g. user1 access to users2 home share so he could modify, delete or add files on this share. in samba we defined a global homes share that is mapped on logon. so how can we give user1 the needed rights? here is the definition of the homes share in smb.conf: [homes]

idmap limit?
Hi, no, that's my fault. I changed the UIDs and user names in my "ls -l" to unpersonalized/example data for my mail and didn't think about putting these values into the range. A better unpersonalized data example would look like: ---------- drwx------ 43 DOM\user1        DOM\group  4096 Jan 10 08:00 user1 drwx------   5 DOM\user2        DOM\group  4096 Jan 11 08:13 user2
