locking limit errors with Peachtree
In the samba domain I admin, one of the computers runs the Peachtree accounting software. Today, McAfee antivirus was installed on that box (not my doing) and now Peachtree keeps giving "Locking table limit reached" errors. Is this an error from samba, Windows, or Peachtree? Is there a limit to the number of file locks samba can grant at one time? -- Andrew Gaffney Network

peachtree issue
I have a Debian server running samba 2.2.3. We are running Peachtree 2002 (version 9) and we have issues with the data being on the server. First, during the install, Peachtree says that our server doesn't handle long file names. Obviously it does, but we have to install it by acting like the data is on the local machine and then changing the .ini file to point the data directory to the

HELP: need better understanding of "--delete" flag
Need to understand exactly what the "--delete" flag does when rsync runs. Here is my understanding... If a file is created on the source machine on monday, then rsync'd to the rsync server on monday night, then deleted on the source machine tuesday, then it will be deleted from the rsync server on tuesday night when the cron job runs again. But, would rsync under any circumstances,

File locking issues with Peachtree
I am having problems with storing Peachtree Complete Accounting on a Samba share. I know people have reported issues like this before but I have yet to see a solution. Is there anyone here who has successfully set this up (without getting the lock errors)? Any help would be greatly appreciated. -Donald

Peachtree Complete Accounting 8.0
Has anyone succesfully gotten Peachtree Complete Accounting 8.0 to work using Wine? The CodeWeavers database has it listed, but there are not user ratings or comments. The latest version mentioned in the WineHQ database is 7.0. I'd love to know if it works before investing the time in building up a GNU/Linux box just to find out that it doesn't work properly. -- Aster

Unable to access registry
I'm attempting to get our Accounting software : Peachtree Premium Accounting to work under Wine in Ubuntu 7.10. The install went smoothly with 0 issues however when i try to run it , it takes about 10s and then exits w/out any errors. So i fired up its database manager since i know it tries to start it first and i get an error message saying Unable to access registry. I've seen that on

: Re: ITSP failover for PRI
Hi, I still have the same problem trying to configure ITSP failover in extensions.conf for a connected PRI. Any comments thoughts or direction would be greatly appreciated. I sympathize with wanting inbound DID failover. If we have a client with multiple DIDs we will spread them across two or three ITSPs so that all inbound connectivity will not be lost if one of them has an issue. I

somewhat OT--windows logon script
Hi Group, We use a simple logon script to map drives for our users. If we put the following line: net use /delete * /yes then no drives are mapped on the workstations. If we rem it out, the script works fine. Full script below: net use /delete * /yes net use e: \\server5\peachtree net use w: \\server5\contract_maintenance net use t: \\server5\fleet net use x: \\server5\allusers net use u:

Mann-Whitney U Table
Does anyone have a piece of code or know how I can use R to generate a table of critical values for the Mann-Whitney (aka Wilcoxon Rank Sum) test. Ideally, I'd like a table that contains the critical values for any two samples of size 3 through 30. I could use Monte Carlo simulation or the normal approximation when n1 and n2 are greater than, 10, but I figured someone may know how to

FreeCell
I have converted my parent's computer to Linux (Fedora Core 3) and have down-loaed Crossover and tried to get three applications working. TurboTax 2004 -> Works great Peachtree-> Still broken and no error output (this is lower priority) FreeCell -> Getting error below Of all the applications I need (for political reasons:>) Freecell is the most critical. .ps and .pdf page size differences in FC vs. Debian
R version: 2.0.0 OS: Fedora Core 1 When I'm using Fedora Core 1, Rplots.ps (and subsequent Rplots.pdf created after using ps2pdf Rplots.ps) which are created from the command line execution of R are too large to fit on a US Letter sized page when printed. The same code will produce a US letter sized page when I'm on my Debian Sid box. Both boxes are connected to the same shared

subsetting data set dimenion problem
(See DAAG book, p. 173, ex. 3) I'm a new user of R, and I'm following the DAAG text. I want to create a subset of the races2000 data frame, but get errors because of a mismatch of values in some columns: > library(DAAG) > attach(races2000) > hills2000 <- races2000[races2000$type == 'hill'] Error in as.matrix.data.frame(x) : dim<- : dims [product 770] do not

Re: R-help Digest, Vol 24, Issue 28
You've omitted a comma. races2000 is a data frame, which for purposes of extracting rows behaves like a 2-dimenional object. The following works fine: hills2000 <- races2000[races2000$type == 'hill', ] Additionally, you might like to ponder > type <- races2000[names(races2000)=="type"] > type[1:4] Error in "[.data.frame"(type, 1:4) :

Polycom 500 - Dialtone while connected
I just set up a Polycom 500 on *. Every few calls I make, the call connects and the receiving party can hear me (thru Broadvoice), but I still get ringing on my end, as if they never picked up. * logs look just fine. Does any one have any suggestions? Thanks. ________________________________ Adam S. Robins Executive Vice President & CIO PHARMACENTRA, LLP 5901B Peachtree Dunwoody
