Unable to enable Add/Remove Printer Drivers (3.0.0)
I used to be able to load printer drivers via "server properties". Now when I go in the printer drivers are listed and I can use the properties button but the Add/Remove buttons are greyed out. This is a Samba 3.0.0/2.4.2-SGI_XFS_1.0 box and I've tried both NT4sp6 and Win2003beta clients (both exhibit the same behaviour). I see the following in the log when I connect to

printer permissions <-> ERROR: NULL dest in safe_strcpy (samba 3.0.0)
Hi Jerry et al, I'm using SAMBA 3.0.0 on Solaris 9, it looks very cute, unfortunately I can not set the permissions on the printers (I can as an admin add a user etc. but all changes are lost after applying):-( Is this somehow related to the error entries in the log file: [2003/11/17 14:45:31, 0] lib/util_str.c:safe_strcpy_fn(577) ERROR: NULL dest in safe_strcpy If so will it be fixed in

Samba Print "ERROR: NULL dest in safe_strcpy"
I'm new to SAMBA and to Linux. Am trying to replace windows file and print servers with RedHat9. I set up the server and installed Samba 3.0.0. I had everything running fine for two weeks(file and print sharing). Yesterday I must have tweaked something, because now I cannot print! I can connect to the printer via Network Neighborhood, but print jobs do not make it to the printer. I still

3.0.6 & "string overflow by 1"
I updated one of my file servers to 3.0.6, and while file serving is improved (no M$-Office file already open messages), every time I access a printer my logs flood with messages like to those below. It seems I can set printer properites, etc... but when I print the jobs seem to go to never-never land (still researching where the jobs go). [2004/08/20 08:46:27, 0]

Samba 3 and CUPs printer causes explorer to abend
I am attempting to setup a Samba printserver to replace our Windows Print servers. I have defined a few printers in CUPS, some raw, and some not. When I use the GUi to upload the drivers, The dialog works, however after that is accomplished, any attempt to get the printer properties or to use the printer from my W2K system (cpq0277) causes explorer to ABEND. System setup: RedHat 9 CUPS

safe_strcpy errors from winbindd (Samba 3.0.25b)
Hi, we've upgraded recently from samba 3.0.23 to 3.0.25b. Since then, we've getting these error messages from winbindd: Jul 17 12:00:23 cvk027 winbindd[20772]: [2007/07/17 12:00:23, 0] lib/util_str.c:safe_strcpy_fn(659) The volume of these messages is very high, many times together with unreadable character garbage. IDMAP RID problems and documentation
Hello List, After upgrading to 3.0.25b (Also tried 3.0.28) I tried to make use of the new syntax for IDMAP. But I failed, Also there is a lack on documentation how to us it. (Yes there is a man, but it contains limited explanation and examples). What do I want? What (I think a lot of people wants) I have two samba domain members and a Windows 2003 DC without R2 / SFU shema extension. So I

Samba login errors of Vista PC to Samba DC
I am very new to Ubuntu/Linux/Samb and have very simple goals: Set up an Ubuntu Server as a Domain Controller to provide single signon for students using study center PC's. All of the PC's are Windows Vista Business. I have successfully added a PC to the domain. I have successfully created a network user and logged on to the PC. However, the Samba log is throwing errors and I have a

3.0.7; "string overflow by 1 (32 - 31) in safe_strcpy"
Hello, I'm using samba 3.0.4 (on RHL9) as a W2k3 domain member in an ADS realm. For printing I'm using CUPS of RHL9. The XP clients get the CUPS printers (CUPS redirects the printjob to the JetDirect card of the printer) and the appropriate PCL drivers installed via the "Point 'n Print" mechanism. The clients get their printers installed via de AD login script and the there

Issues after upgrade to 3.0.6 from 3.0.4; fixed in 3.0.7?
Hello, I run samba 3.0.4 on a RHL9 server. Samba is a domain member of a W2k3 ADS and I use CUPS as printing mechanism; therefore Samba is compiled with Kerberos 1.3.1-7 and cups-devel. 3.0.4 runs pretty good, printing via CUPS runs well too, only the following messages I see constantly (this flooding my logs) while using 3.0.4: winbindd.log ========= [2004/07/27 16:07:04, 1]

Obtaining names of ``...'' arguments.
This may be an FAQ, but a (perfunctory) search failed to turn it up. Suppose I have a function foo(...){<something>} and I want to obtain, inside foo, the names of items comprising the ``...''. E.g. if I call foo(melvin, clyde, irving) I want to be able to loop through the ``...'' and successively obtain the text strings "melvin", "clyde", and

Determining name of calling function.
I have vague recollections of seeing this question discussed on r-help previously, but I can't find the relevant postings. I want to determine (from within a given function) the name of the function calling that given function. E.g. if I have a function foo() which calls a function bar(), and also a function clyde() which calls bar(), I want to have, in the code of bar(), an instruction
