Missing Files on share
Hello all, I have an old server here, which is my PDC and has worked fine so far. It runs Conectiva Linux 8.0 and Samba 3.0.4 Here's the deal. In a share (I didn't check all, this is the one that the users complained so far), there are files missing. The problem: In Windows XP Pro workstations, when browsing the share, which should have more than 1,000 files, only about 200 show up.

DENY_MODE problem...
Hello! I sent this message to samba-technical yesterday but as I saw no response (not even a RTFM ;), I'm crossposting. I just need some help to track down this bug. getent showing wrong gids af
The only thing I know is that tdb files are Trivial DataBase files. So it's a database used by samba to persistently store stuff. The file I was refering to accidentally had "winbind" and "id" in its name, so I just deleted it to see what it gives. Seems I made the right choice. I have no idea how to view these files though. Maybe someone on the list knows?

Since you've compiled with default options, your smb.conf is located in /usr/local/lib/smb.conf . You should copy your working smb.conf for version 2.2.7 (/etc/samba/smb.conf) to /usr/local/lib. You should run ./testparm as well. ------------------------ "A.A" <1alp@gmx.de> wrote: ------------------------ there is some new Error:connections.tdb not initialized. > >

Many 64bit locks failed on HPUX 11.00/32
Hi Samba Team, I tried samba 2.2.8a (without winbind) on HPUX 11/32. I downloaded the binaries from http://de.samba.org/samba/ftp/Binary_Packages/hp/samba-2.2.8a/ I get following errors: [2003/06/27 10:16:50, 0] locking/posix.c:(658) an Invalid argument error. This can happen when using 64 bit lock offsets [2003/06/27 10:16:50, 0] locking/posix.c:(659) on 32 bit NFS mounted file systems.

About the BeagleBoard, if you're going after an equivalent # of peripherals (screen and keyboard are things I wanted) then, really, I think that the Pandora is cheapest. I will say, without

samba 2.2.7a, security=server, password server = win2k, winxp client
Hello, I'm having some problems with the this setting. I'm trying to have a winxp client logon to a samba-2.2.7a machine which is using a win2k server as password server. It works if I use a linux client (smbclient): smbclient -L pandora -U bush%george Pandora is the samba machine, and it contacts the w2k server and validates bush's password. This is working, but only with
