RH9, Samba 2.2.8a and printing with CUPS
Hi there I just installed the above mentioned system and try to print from a W2k box to the Samba box but nothing happens. There's no problem in printing from the RH box or via Webmin but when I try to print from the W2k box nothing happens. I don't get an error or anything. I installed the printer by the help of the add printer tool in RH, and simply go to the Printer--->Add

Samba share configuration: r/w for some users, read-only for others
Hi, I'm using Samba for some basic setups like open shares for everybody, or restricted shares with Samba users and passwords. So far, everything works fine. I have two situations which both more or less amount to the same, and I don't know how to configure it. One is in a school, the other one in a town hall. 1) In the school, I'd like to configure a share that is readable and

How to create following chart for visualizing multivariate time series
Let me take an artifical matrix : dat = matrix(rnorm(200*200), 200, 200) My goal is to visualize this matrix according to the procedure, described in previous mails. I took Mendelssohn's advice and got following advice : ?plot.im Z <- setcov(owin()) plot(Z) .................... etc However I can not reproduce this example in my problem. How I can change my data

download.file - it works on my Mac but not on Windows.
Hi: I am working with someone remotely to allow them access to our data. The follow command using "download.file" works perfectly on my Mac: > > download.file(url="http://oceanwatch.pfeg.noaa.gov:8081/thredds/ > wcs/satellite/AG/ssta/14day? > request=GetCoverage&version=1.0.0&service=WCS&format=NetCDF3&coverage= >

Fwd: Re: How to create following chart for visualizing multivariate time series
Thanks David, It is working. Holtman's also gave me a solution but, I wanted to have a color pallet for description of colors, that was not in his solution. However I need one small modification. If I want to plot only lower diagonal elements of 'dat' then how should I proceed? What I want is, to visualize only lower diagonal elements and having the color pallet on them only. Also

Hi: We are having some very strange problems with R on WIndows, both with R 2.4.1 and R 2.5.0. The following command: > download.file(url="http://oceanwatch.pfeg.noaa.gov:8081/thredds/wcs/ > satellite/AG/ssta/14day? > request=GetCoverage&version=1.0.0&service=WCS&format=NetCDF3&coverage= >

Extracting subset from netCDF file using lat/lon and converting into .csv in R
Two questions: 1. Is the order of the dimensions shown what is shown if you look at str(ncin) - I mean shown at the end where it describes the variable and its dimensions? 2. Is you problem how to subset the netcdf file, how to write to the .csv file, or both? -Roy > On Aug 28, 2017, at 2:21 PM, Eeusha Nafi <eshad002 at gmail.com> wrote: > > I have a series of nertCDF files

select read/write access by user or group?
This should be simple, but I've been pounding my head against it for several hours, and I'm not getting the result I want. I'd like to be able to select shares, whether they are the root of a drive or /home/username and designate who can read and who can read/write. Does Samba have it's own groups to go with it's own users? I really can only use "security = user"

Yes, it's certainly possible. Directory Permissons showing partial read-only on Windows XP
To whom it may concern, I've spent the last couple of hours searching the internet looking for an answer to a Samba question and have come up dry. Here's the problem I'm facing. When a drive is mapped on a RH Linux 9.0 server with the latest Samba update from RH, I can right click on the directory and it shows a partial read-only on all directories regardless. I need Samba to show

Therefor I performed following short test: -------------- mean.sds <- NULL sample.sizes <- 3:30 for(N in sample.sizes){ dum <- NULL for(I in 1:5000){ x <- rnorm(N,0,1) dum <- c(dum,sd(x)) } mean.sds<- c(mean.sds,mean(dum)) }
