Strange issue with Samba + LDAP + Domain Member
Hey, I keep posting but no replies yet, this is a new issue, the rest I seem to have fixed. I have an odd issue: * When I do net rpc join the PDC creates the account, and puts it into LDAP, which looks fine. * I then can access the domain and winbind works fine from the Domain Member server. * On the PDC I see the following error: "pdb_get_group_sid: Failed to find Unix account

FW: Samba and winbind issues
Hi all, I have a small issue with my current Samba install. I have installed 3.2.7, and joined it to my AD domain with security=ADS, I have also built up a Idmap backend using LDAP. It all appeared at first to work flawlessly. I was doing some bits the other day and wanted to check the group listings, so I ran "getent group" - This sat at the point after the local users for 5

winbind caused "ls -l" hang on solaris 8
Hi Guys I compiled Samba 3.0.26a --with-ads and --with-winbind with krb5-1.6.2 and openldap-2.3.38 using gcc version 3.4.6 on Solaris 8. and added winbind in passwd entry in /etc/nsswitch.conf passwd: files winbind The problem is the entry "passwd: files winbind" in /etc/nsswitch.conf caused "ls -l" and Samba hang. yet another "rsync hangs" question
Hello, I am sure the list has seem many of these questions, but I did not find one relating to my problem. I am using rsync 2.6.6 on windows xp professional and cygwin (latest) to sync files between the hard-drives and the portable drive. There is no other rsync daemon that I am contacting. Even if I try to transfer files from one subdirectory to another on the same drive, rsync will hang.

what is the recommended samba version on solaris?
Guys I was so frustrated about installing samba with ADS and winbind support on solaris 8. After fixing many problems, I am now facing another problem: I created a directory "test" in the samba share and was editing a file under the directory "test" and in the meantime the machine was rebooted. After the machine is started, the whole directory "test" is gone. I

CentOS 6 and 1.3.3
libvirt 1.3.3 seems to have introduced some kind of issue on CentOS 6 (no systemd). After upgrading, libvirt would take an incredibly long time to get to a state where it would actually respond to a simple 'virsh list' command. Looking at verbose output showed this repeating at exactly 30s intervals 2016-04-12 19:40:57.142+0000: 14929: info : virEventPollDispatchHandles:507 :

Pigeonhole vacation auto-response not respecting "days" parameter
This might be a PEBKAC on my end, but in our old server, "vacation" responses would only be sent back to an origin address once per day because we had ":days 1" in the rule. On the new server, even though we have ":days 1", pigeonhole is sending responses to every message, resulting in multiple vacation responses each day back to each origin address. The

Auto-congesting call due to slow response
Hello, I'm running several asterisks in a carrier environment. The asterisks do mainly gateway business between E1 cards and IAX with some routing logic. On one key server I see issues of "Auto-congesting call due to slow response" coming every number of calls. The IAX peer is in the same subnet, the servers are not really loaded. Versions in use are 1.2.2 and 1.4.23-rc3, with rsa

In iax.conf, I have: [iax-out] username=iax-in type=peer trunk=yes secret=xxxxxxxxxxx qualify=yes host=xxx.yyy.zzz.32 auth=md5 Any idea? Perpaphs is due to
